actually hor... I was just thinking about this. I feel that it's a case of differences in how different cultures define their in and out groups.

The westerners that keep progressing have a more flexible view of in group definition. The East and South Asians don't.

Hate if used correctly can create determination to achieve an objective. I dont advocate hate for hate sake though alot of assholes in this forum deserve to be executed for being assholes. After objectives has been met. Reconciliation can come later. I realized that for cantoland to gain independence. The foreigners need to be driven out. Those that don't play ball should also be gotten rid of. This is to ensure all divisions are eliminated and the objective is met. For ah tiong land. There is no way to win independence by being nice bcos the chicoms, the northerners n their running dogs the fuckeins will play dirty n b more cruel than the nips n krauts in WW2. Look at the killing rates by Mao n the CCP...one does not win a war by being nice. N the biggest losers to cantoland independence will be the chicoms n northerners n fuckeins. Rest assured they will eliminate all cantos to ensure it will not happen

Just throwing out some random thoughts on this, but I think much of modern Western progress can be traced to 1789 when democracy finally overthrew the monarchy.

The Asians were never emancipated similarly and have always been oppressed by some form of monarchy/dictatorship under the guise of cohesion/unity.

Asians never had a chance to think and act for themselves and thus never carried the burden of self responsibility. All gain and all pain were always attributed to a higher authority, never to themselves.

I agree with the above. Hate can in selective instances work, but I see no solution here for it.

if you go aggressive with Mao and his communist cadre do you think you will win? I feel that a group of people who wish to go their own way should be given a chance to as in HK's case, but I feel that going head on will win HK nothing.

just as an aside. The British insist on claiming their emancipation from autocracy earlier, but I disagree with them. Their version was a fluke.

I've spent a good portion of my life wondering where and how China in it's zenith for the 1st millennium A.D. ended up being sick man of the East and us accordingly being raised in a British colony a good few latitudes away from home.

That's why I said Britishers insist it was earlier but I disagree. Truth is that it wasn't. Cromwell is who they cite. They never did what hofmann said. That's why they're going down the tubes now.
