PHYSICIAN SAYS: Hi Amos,
As a physician myself, I had initially questioned the need for you to see a psychiatrist as some had suggested, as I considered your behaviours simply that of a young, iconoclastic teenage rebel, perhaps one more extreme than usual.
However, having observed your overall pattern of behaviour over the last few weeks, I have revised my view and believe that you do need professional help and should see a psychiatrist as you exhibit sufficient symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder to meet the diagnostic criteria.
These criteria are as follows. You are a logical enough lad to read them and do a self-assessment. I have put my own thoughts as a guide but you make the judgment yourself. My scoring is that you meet 5 of the criteria clearly, are borderline on 2 and do not meet 2 of the criteria. Taken in sum, it does look like you have a positive diagnosis and should seek professional help.
In order for a person to be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) they must meet five or more of the following symptoms:
– Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements) – BORDERLINE. SEEMS TO CONSIDER HIMSELF SUPERIOR TO ACCOMPLISHED MEDIA ARTISTES LIKE DIRECTORS OF “PUBLIC ENEMY” AND JACK NEO BUT UNCLEAR IF HE EXPECTS TO RECOGNISED AS SUCH AT THIS POINT.
– Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love – DOES NOT MEET CRITERIA
– Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions) – MEETS CRITERIA. HAS SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT EVERYONE (DAD, ROY, DIRECTORS OF “PUBLIC ENEMY” ETC.) AND BELIEVES HE IS SMART AND THAT OTHERS CAN’T UNDERSTAND HIM BECAUSE THEY ARE DUMB. POOR SOCIAL SKILLS IN SCHOOL WITH NO FRIENDS BASED ON HIS PREVIOUS POST.
– Requires excessive admiration – BORDERLINE. UNCLEAR IF MOTIVATION FOR YOUTUBE VIDEOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS ARE TO SEEK ADMIRATION.
– Has a very strong sense of entitlement, e.g., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations – MEETS CRITERIA, MULTIPLE EXAMPLES OF EXPECTING OTHERS TO MEET HIS EXPECTATIONS E.G. SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WEAR PAJAMAS TO COURT
Is exploitative of others, e.g., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends – MEETS CRITERIA, USED VINCENT LAW MOLEST ACCUSATION TO TROLL MEDIA. USES OTHERS TO CREATE PUBLICITY FOR HIMSELF.
Lacks empathy, e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others – MEETS CRITERIA. UTTERLY LACKS EMPATHY TO THOSE AROUND HIM AND LACKS SELF-AWARENESS OF THIS. THE LACK OF SELF AWARENESS IS WORRYING BECAUSE IT MAY MEAN A PSYCHOSIS RATHER THAN A NEUROSIS.
Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her – DOES NOT MEET CRITERIA.
Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes – MEETS CRITERIA. REGULARLY CRITICISES THOSE HE ASSOCIATES WITH, EVEN HIS SUPPORTERS E.G. THINKS WORK OF “PUBLIC ENEMY” DIRECTORS AND JACK NEO ARE NOT AS GOOD AS HIS ALTHOUGH THEY ARE ACCOMPLISHED DIRECTORS AND HE IS AN AMATEUR.

The DSM-5 criteria are clear and you can find them on the Mayo clinic website as well.
