Love is blind - your love for US.
China has 20% of its exports going to the US. Not because the US love China, but the Americans themselves can’t compete! So if I lend you money to buy my products, at most I would call it mutual benefit. I would hardly say US own the bank. Where is your logic. Yes if US stop buying it will hurt China but who will be hurt more? The truth is American consumers, American business needs the Chinese supply. So you’re being delusional to think this is a situation with US at upper hand. Even Americans acknowledge the American Dream is long gone. You need to move on with times.

I actually admire the United States, and along with most sane Singaporeans, I thank them for all they have given us. Currently the whole world has caught a case of Sinophobia, which as you well know can be very serious - it can kill. If American could not "compete" as you claim, then why do people covet their products? Is Apple a failure? Amazon? Facebook? Why do people send their children to its Universities? And why watch American movies? Why do so many people watch movies from Marvel Studios?

America does not need China's exports, in fact US imports from China are down almost 50% in the past 2 years so China is in serious trouble. The Yuan is in freefall. China's unemployment issues are serious.

Its time people learn that China is a threat. To us all.

The world craves American products? That's a sweeping claim. I won't buy US brand television - they don't even exist in SINKapore - because they are made in Mexico. Most of the American products are produced using inputs from Chiiiiinnnnnnnna (pronounced by Trump).

Facebook is not a product, neither is Amazon. In SINKapore, we use taobao to buy our stuff ....from China. I can furnish a whole flat on the cheap by shopping at Taobao. Buy from Amazon here? Crazy people do that.

America has changed. It is inward looking and totally does not care what happens to the world unless it involves its interest. And US interest is now narrowly defined.

All the new idea, new products new inventions, innovations. They almost ALL come from America.

Look at autonomous driving. Who's doing it? China?

China is good at production and keeping cost low (cheap labor)

They are trying but no where close.

Those blockbuster movies from China come across as B grade movies. Can be entertaining but no where near Hollywood standards.

Jesus Christ... yuan’s falling because China allowed it to fall against USD and US is crying foul accusing China of manipulating their currency! It is not because of an inflationary pressure or the result of printing worthless currency. China had been trying to help US by keeping the yuan at an artificially high level... akin to imposing tariff to make its own products less attractive to buy for America. And yet that would not dampen American appetite for Chinese products. So let’s guess who is dependent on who?
To be sure, the entertainment industry is America’s strong point. The Europeans spread its propaganda with religion. America spread its propaganda with their movies. And that is why the bunch of you here believed everything you saw in the American movies. To be sure, they WERE ahead of everyone else in information technology. But to be sure, nothing lasts forever and others have caught up. Apple has been losing market share. Nobody in Singapore in their right mind buy things from Amazon. We all get from Taobao or AliExpress. In fact, I cannot think of anything I own that is made in America.
You are in a denial stage but to each it’s own.

No one is here to dispute US’ contribution to end the 2nd world war but that is history. One can go further back and claimed the Roman Empire was the most powerful 2000 years ago. China did not even have an “economy” so to say, in that era where US ended the WW II

But things have changed. UK is weak and undecided, whereas Japan and Germany has risen beyond the ashes WW II and became technological and economic powerhouses. And have gone into years of recession as well. America was respected for probably half a century for its moral leadership, for its economic power, their private enterprises achievement was phenomenal and brought great progress to the world.

And then, things continued turning worse for for America and there is no turning back without a miracle. If you are still reminiscing in the greatness of America, I suggest you play yourself some sentimental music. All good things will come to and end, just like the great Roman Empire. America became so full of itself after crushing Russia in the Cold War, thks to that dumbo Gorbachev who allowed the Soviet Union to adopt the path of Perestroika. (I still suspect till this day Gorbachev was a mole planted by Ronald Reagan to break up Soviet Union.) America, the sole superpower, gloat in it’s invincibility and nobody could stop them. They started committing grave errors by spending too much time focussing on instigating regime changes all over the world, whichever Govt that is not aligned to American interest. They spent billions on wars and ignored their trillions of deficit. They didn’t care because the Japanese would fund them anyway, in the form of the worthless US Bonds. In a way they knew that Japan is forever indebted to them and won’t push them to repay. And then came the rise of China who was happy to share the burden of Japan. Still, America forgot they need to take care of their own backyard! While everyone else shot ahead with progress, economic development, poverty eradication, overhaul of infrastructure and civil service... America remain stuck in the 70s. And then they realised their very own American enterprises moved half their jobs to their new enemy China. Out of own will, China did not force them!

US is technically owned by Japan/China. US will never be able to redeem it’s Govt Bonds. It has to keep issuing new Bonds to replace maturing ones. It is technically bankrupt, eg. If Japan/China decided to stop subscribing to US Bonds.

And being the 野蛮 people as they are, instead of expressing gratitude, they abuse their lenders. Can you imagine you lend money to your bankrupt buddy and he still spew nonsense about you. Why do people condone such behavior?? China has its issues which you may not like, but heck, it’s their political system. If they are stupid like Gorbachev and adopt Perestroika like reforms, they will sure be the next Russia. So kudos to China for its wisdom. One will have to be wary of their growing dominance which could lead to bad behavior “one day” but hellooooooo.... US is already behaving like a gangster?

What a silly man you! Owe you ten dollars may be you can write off. Owe you 10 trillion? So you better play nice if you want any coffin money back.

The Yuan is not a floating currency you twit. Its set by the PBOC and its crashing because they need to make exports cheaper. This in itself is a serious symptom of the state of the Chinese economy. Alarm bells are ringing. The Chinese have no way out of this situation because they cannot rely on household consumption of bail them out, like other nations can.

You might believe what you see in American movies but I sure dont. If you think the Avengers are real then lets get the Hulk to bash the CCP out of existence so the world can heal and be whole again.

I guess you will be sitting in darkness from now on, as the light bulb is an American invention. There is no need for you to watch TV anymore, since that's American. In your house you can just throw everything out into the trash as it was all invented by Americans - your refigerator, TV, microwave, dishwasher, even dustpan etc..... its all American or designed by Americans. In your closet its best to remove all clothes hangers - American. No more ironing your clothes as the ironing board is American. No brushing your teeth, better tell dentist toothpaste is American and you cannot. Dental floss as well - American.

Oh no need to order anything online as mail order was invented by the Americans. And no more clothing with sewing or zippers - you know, American. I think you cant wear much at this point. Oh when you leave your home, take the stairs because the elevator - American. And no more escalators for you - American.

Also you are going to be very hot from now on because you see, air conditioning - so sorry American. Also no electric fan, no cheating - American.

Outside please tell the SCDF to remove all fire hydrants as you dont use American products. Better too no more outside toilet as urinals were invented by Americans. I think you are in trouble here. Dont go into any buildings with sprinkler systems too - yes that too is American and you don't use. And no American fast food - Singaporeans love but you cannot.

And no flying - American invention you know.

No more paying with debit or credit cards for you too - American.

Also no need to use your mobile phone anymore since that was invented and designed by Americans, whom also invented mobile service too, so no way for you to call or surf check your email etc - which was invented by Americans And since you are posting on the internet - which was invented by the Americans - powered by electricity - again invented by the Americans - there is no need to use American products or services any longer.
