Iftar at Darul Arqam
Workers' Party MPs and members paid a visit to Darul Arqam, the Muslim Converts' Association, on Onan Road on 4 August 2012, for Iftar, the evening meal when Muslims break their fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan).
Before that, we visited the Tabung Amal Aidilfitri (Hari Raya Charity Box) at Joo Chiat Complex.
Ustaz Omar Ma conducted a briefing on Islam and its Pillars, followed by a question and answer session.
At dusk, at 7.17pm, the azan (call to prayer) was made, signalling the breaking of fast for the day. Together with our Muslim and non-Muslim friends, we started our meal with dates, followed by the rest of the prepared food.
As we departed, Mr Ridzuan Wu, the Deputy President of Darul Arqam, together with other Council members bade us a warm goodbye.
