Many complained that I write too long, thus I will be brief. There are far more intelligent folks than me with detailed analysis that one can find on trusted media sources anyway.

1. China & USA are our friends. Just because the 2 of them have disagreements does not mean we Singapore have to take sides.

2. Singapore is an import nation. We have little resources & whatever we manufacture are limited, & our market is small. Fortunately, we are a port city, at a point on the World map where all the compass points meet, & along with our trusted financial services with Rule of Law, such are enough to meet our needs for revenues, along with hardworking citizens working in supply chains to support our economy for our social expenditures & survival.

3. With the strength of our dollar, cheap goods from China would be better for our wallets than even from our neighbors. Our own cottage industries are long gone. Durians grown from China costs only a fraction of what our neighbors are selling to us....

However, when it comes to hi tech & construction goods/services from China, we would have to exercise caution, seriously....

I bought a Xiaomi 55inch TV at a cheap price a few years ago. It looks great & worked great. However as I lived a busy lifestyle & seldom watch TV, I used it only 3 times, & after that, the images started to flicker & since then it is more of a decoration than a TV in my living room. Fortunately I have a Sharp 32 inch monitor connected to my computer, which lasted still even today....

4. China is a huge country & would need much work. We had tried & been slapped in the face in SuZhou, yet we tried again & again in many ways, to help, even though we are a small nation & have limited power on the World's stage. We are all fellow Humans after all. We wish them well.

This will be the final nail in the coffin of his so-called 'legacy'.

When most of the civilized world has slapped tariffs on Tiong goods and factories are moving out of Tiongland, when Tiongland's MFN status is revoked, we shall see what happens.

I disagree with this. The PAPies just never learn.

The existing Singapore-Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) had already been conned kao kao. A few years after its opening, their own people learn from it and develop an identical one just next to it and called it the New Suzhou Industrial Park (新 Suzhou). To make it worst, they were being lease out to companies at half the price of the original SIP.

LKY then complained to Beijing, but the latter said that this is a Provincial Government decision and they can't do anything about it. WTF? What then is a Central Government for?

I cannot understand why LHL still wants Singapore to work in collaboration with them again today? The opposition should pose its objection during Parliament, but as usual, they'll be as timid as a mouse.

Which planet is he from ?
China's property market will be continuing to drop in coming years, and China kept on churning out cheap produce to flood the world.

They have no internal consumption to talk about !
