A Singaporean's guide to living in Thailand

Froggy, so you did the bar strip.

PP’s streets are in blocks, ala french (frogs) influence.
Most telling is the modern looking main boulevard crossing city.
But then you get blxxdy PM’s official residence smack in the centre
(you got to get around it, no missing it).

Another observation: many khmers are of relatively young age. Mean average monthly income circa usd60-80.

If you got 30mins to spare, try popping by Sihanouk’s old palace (near waterfront).

Actually I live on the bar strip which is the infamous Street 136 (I didn't know till I got here)

Try to avoid any food tats fried, mostly all stalls uses recycled oil, even tos restaurants line in front of the Mekong. Beer 50 cents happy hour (24 hrs is their happy hrs.)

Last night went out dinner in a tuk-tuk. Now I don't even take a tuk-tuk in Thailand so this is very interesting for me in Phnom Penh. It was a cool evening so the ride was really comfortable. I think this is the way to see the city.

Hope you enjoy this traditional Khmer music too

Evening went to a bar for some drinks and snack

My dry noodle (US$2.50)

Hot coffee US$1 (rater expensive)

My verdict is I prefer the first shop due to the soup taste more natural less sweet which this stall is rather sweet I guess due to MSG. The fish ball from the first shop is also nicer. This is just personal preference.

My second and last night in Phnom Penh had drinks at Oskar and then dinner at Malis

What a great way to end a trip

I find the Phnom Penh airport a breeze, its not crowded in the first place and pretty efficient and quick. I also have to give compliment to the PhnomPenh Airport Lounge - Plaza Premium Lounge. It is very very spacious and nice decors

No teenage beggars chased you around?

I'm back to Bangkok. Its Saturday morning time for brunch. Went to my favourite Indian restaurant Tamil Nadu at Silom Soi 11. This is I guess the only Southern Indian Restaurant (that serve meat) in Bangkok. All other meat serving Indian restaurants are Northern Indian which is not what I like and the Southern Indian restaurants here are all vegetarian, sad.
