I had done a little homework with a Thai ex-colleague, the Russians practically controls Phuket and Samui too. Believe it or not they are in real estate too when foreigners are not allow to own landed properties these Russians could through proxies.

They do that in many places... Saw news that goa (India) clamp down on them after they took over lots of prime property by proxy and push up price... also big in prost rackets with girls from Ukraine and other east bloc countries

Great food pics.
Curry, rendang, sambal chilli, chili padi with bitter gourd with minced meat and egg all look really good.
