Your new shop is coming along nicely :-) The pork really looks aroi mak. hehe...

Is there a demand for English learning by Thais? I have a personal interest in language learning and thought of preparing a second career for myself as a English language teacher or running a English language school. This year must visit Thailand at least twice, to check out Bangkok and Pattaya and also up north Chiang Mai :-)

Went to spy on a bar near my shop.
Only thing I spot (from your competition) is the blurry rear of that pool puying :p:wink:

Chon, if you don't mind my 2 satangs worth. On your new setup, guess you did your numbers right, with cashflows, both in/out. On your earlier dilemma IT staff or outsourced, can understand the latter can be expensive after a threshold. You may also thought about muti tasking ("job enlargement"?) with your other existing business, if full time staff. Am sure you watching out for your fixed costs. May your new shop prosper, and even move on with a good capital gain shd you decide to move on and open an arb naam joint hehehehe

Hehehe. Thanks bro for the advice. Cash flow wise, quite comfortable. I planning overbudgeted for the new shop so got quite a bit to spend now. That explains why I have been buying LED TV like no tomorrow. Guess what? I am going to buy one more 32 inch today.

As for the IT staff, told him that he will need to work at 3 different locations, and occasionally, the shareholders home pc and, our customers' one too. But I do give him transport allowance and additional bonus if he go to our clients' home.

Ok bro chonburifc.

Yes my job takes me to many places but then always behind my big ass Bangalore boss. He stay in 5 star hotels while I have to stay in motels and every morning go to his 5 star hotels at 6.30am to standby in case he need me. Every night got to pimp for him and make sure until he go to his room at don't know what time. 5 years is enough. So when I come across this thread I'm so happy and full of hope. I will come to see you late March or early April ok?
Throughout my entire working career, I never encounter such things. I stayed in the same hotel as my ex-bosses, different rooms. Occasionally, different hotels, but still 5 star hotels. Only time different is when taking aeroplanes, boss biz class and I economy class. A few times lucky, boss request for class upgrades for me, so that we can have discussion (Actually I always want to siam sitting with boss so I can ZZzz at ecpnomy class).

Do come here for a visit. Who knows? you might like this cowboy town.

Glad it sparked off more ideas. My own long-term plan is to "retire" in a lower cost ASEAN country. Once I decided on that, language acquisition was the natural choice. :-)

Thank you bro chonburifc for your understanding. I really appreciate it. Its sometime very demeaning working under this employer but then its like love hate relationship as he do take care of my good salary and give me a car too, aiya like husband and wife . Anyway I was hesitant to say this because there are many anti-ahneh forum members here. I don't like them too but I have to make a living too.

Re: A Singaporean's guide to living in Thailand ? Feasible?

Bro Joetys,
I have been following this thread ninja mode.Today have registered and want to ask you
whether you have plans to open an outlet for Chicken rice spore style?Want employ me?
I can cook up a version of chicken rice with my own version of chill sauce to go.I am not a pro
chef but have been cooking for my family for few years.

Hi epicure9, welcome to this thread. No I have no plan to open any food business because I have no experience in doing this type of business. Moreover I understand that food business require long hours and I don't have the luxury of time away from my hardware construction product business. Do drop by this thread whenever you have time.

This is the spread

Highlight something special today - jiao-hon in Isaan language (jeem-jum in Thai language) is actually claypot hotpot.

Kai-Jiao-Kai-Mot-Daeng (literally egg-fried-egg-ants-red) Fried eggs with red ants' eggs. Can you spot the ant eggs?

Hi Jah. The beef and veges on the plate is to be put into the hot claypot (1st photo top right) with charcoal and mixed together. Its very delicious. Yes I am used to eating most insects except those really big ones that I posted last month during by Chiangmai trip. These crickets I ate today is very delicious, like peanuts. I finished the whole plate. Oh I sometimes eat roasted worms too. Very nice.

Oh Jah, did you notice the ants eggs in the third photo?
