A Singaporean's guide to living in Thailand

Hehehehe. Evil you. Sort of kid teung SG liaoz. Yeap, mee pok (Bak Chor Mee) is one of my favorite. Like it with lots and lots of black vinegar. Here can only get Mee Pok at Makro and not all the time they sell this. Ever cook Bak Chor Mee once but find it too costly. Think add a little bit more, can buy a one-way budget airline ticket on SG liaoz.

heh heh heh.... kid teung SG for food & friends can liao, not for other things. :D

I've tried all these 3 bak chor mee so i think you'll like the Tai Wah one. But with all things in sinkapoor, bluddy thing is freaking expensive, 1 bowl is about $5, and normally will have other add ons (Fish Maw Soup, Shui Jiao Soup) then all in all is $10+ for 1 person.

that is one famous story, and we had like 13/16 jugs before that??

i do miss those times. Not much $$ but we have time.

sadly, time now is a very rare commodity.

Actually come to think you it its like not too long ago. Sad man, so many things happened between then and now especially for me, so many good memories but now its all gone. :( sometimes life sucks.

i remember those time brother, these memories will always stay with us. ;)

The basement place at Old Phoenix hotel change owners so many times. Was it 97 or Europa at one time?
Now my (fond) memories come back:o PleasureDome, ex 97 -Europa owned, with Dennis bloke dropping by with his trade mark scotch in hand.

But I was more into next door, wine bar

Hehehe. Will pay top money if I can taste the Bedok North St 4 one right now. :) Tai Wah and the rest also good. Another good one is the one at the basement of SLS. Think call Paradiz or something. But this stall, I will go for soup only. OMG! feel like booking a ticket now.

Yeah, difficult not to miss family and friends in SG especially the recent mother's day.

Didn't know who he was in the beginning and thought this guy want to come to our table to 'pian' drinks. Later my friends told me "You know who is he?". Knn, me got eye never see tarzan.

Thanks for the support Bro. Come to think of it maybe a folder called "South East Asia - Our Backyard" and to cover not only living in these cities but for those who travel to these places for various things like work, business, charity work etc. One of new forummer was sharing his experiences in Indonesia and the people. I know people currently doing charity work in Indoneia, Cambodia and Timor

Hehehehe. You confirm a health freak. OK, let me think of tomorrow's dinner menu. Been sometime I have cook anything. Suddenly, I do have a craving for Barley Drink. Have the barley beans but not the pandan leaves. Can get Pandan leaves easily in Sin City but I like one particular leave from a stall. Cook any desserts also Aroi!:p

Think I will have An Zhi Porridge (sweet potato) tomorrow if possible. Hehehehe. Suddenly, I also want to be healthy.

Haha I no health freak lah, actually used to eat out 100% of the time until few years ago had some stomach conditions so had to change my diet...After this few years of home cooked dinners, I do feel much healthier nowadays...anyway a photo of the dessert I take in JB to balance up...:)

Oreo cheese cake

Oh ever watched a Taiwan health program that said sweet potato is one of the most healthy food...

Wife and I woke up early, still adjusting to US time. So came to Foodland breakfast at 5.30am.

What a nice cup of coffee and breakfast

All the above for 99 baht

This is Meatloaf Omelet Sandwich also for 99baht plus 2 sunnyside up for addition 24baht

The above meal would have easily cost US$25. Yes I know cannot compare but my point is Thailand is good place to live, with a Singapore salary of course.

the breakfast set looks very nice and worthwhile at 99 baht...

If i ever open a bar, think just call it library bar or reading bar. Hehehe, if gf ask, just tell her i am going to library or reading. Hehehehe.

Alternatively you may also consider 'The Office'
Imagine its versatility and possibility
You can use this to invite friends in the presence of your wife or gf
When making appointment over the phone...speak louder so that she can hear "Going to meet at The Office"
In the good old days, there was one at Orchard Tower which I frequent and sometimes my wife served me hot steaming breakfast when I reached home before 6am.

Hehehe. Me different category from this guy leh. He makes money from nightlife whereas I spent money on nightlife. :p
Strange but true, seems like those who live in or live near nightlife don't really cheong but I do have the urge to cheong somewhere else.
