A Singaporean's guide to living in Thailand

OK, guys. It's really very hot now in Sin City. Best thing to do is take a short nap in my apartment. :)

Sawasdee krup everybody, I just want to tell you somethign about Canton Fair. Its like a gigantic exhibition 50 times the size of our Expo. You walk and walk and walk. Probably more than 98% of the exhibitors are local Chinese manufacturers. Only foreigners are allowed in the exhibition. Locals are reserved for exhibitors and translators. Not that I need to cover everything I only need to look for what I need. But its a lot of walking so I not able to post so much.

Think it's Mantis Prawn. Dio Boh?

Yes its mantis prawns (lai-liu-ha in Cantonese)

Dun like this kind of prawn, the meat hard to peel off from the shell...

Yes this sticks to the shells. But the meat is damn sweet.

Dinner at Preecha at Baan Amper. This is a very famous seafood about 8 km away from Jomtien. The rich and famous of BKK dine here and so do the Hong Kong/Taiwan tourist.

Good morning. I just came back from Phuket yesterday. When I arrived there last week, got shocked by a tsunami warning. Wasted one and a half day holing up in hotel with my wife. Fortunately, no tsunami happened. Dined at Fuji too. Sushi set and diced beef set with rice, salad and soup. Two to share, just nice. Damage 500 baht, keep the change. We like Phuket but one thing we can't get used to in Thailand is real Thai food, cheaper but too spicy for our tastebuds.

OK, remember the post which I bought a misting fan? Bought another one today for my apartment. This one have swinging function. Problem with traditional fan is if the surrounding air is hot, the wind is also hot. There are two type of misting fan, the first type is those using water droplets and the second type is using oscillation. Honestly, I don't know how it works but the results is great! Can easily drop the temperature by 2-3 degrees. If you cannot wait and want instant cool, just add ice water.

Wow! Shiok!
