If PAP is really losing the support of many sections, then no amount of gerrymandering can help it to win elections. People will still vote against the PAP. The change in government in jiuhu is a good example. UMNO's gerrymandering didn't help it retain power.

Here's another section of society that's withdrawing their support for the PAP. You don't need to deliberately misconstrue the meaning of losing support. Mathematically it refers to a decline.
