In the sports arena Singapore indeed perform below par compared to small nations such as Croatia and NZ. The population of Croatia is only 4 million but the country is a powerhouse in football, basketball, water polo and tennis.

But in the economics realm, we are way ahead of many other small nations as everyone knows Singapore punches above its weight in the world economy. And this is in no small part due to role played by both GIC and TH. And whether good or bad for its citizens well it is for another discussion ...
