When dealing with a wayward kid, a mentally challenged individual etc, the parent, the guardian or the most responsible relative will tend to apologise as the kid or mentally challenged person has no clue what he did wrong. This is the exact scenario. The old man had no clue what he did wrong.

This is not about whether the position of Malays are true or not. It is politically suicidal and inappropriate to make such a comment and his son start to repair the damage by making some conciliatory comments.

In politics you do not hand over loaded gun to your opponent. Old man did but it was the young lady that took it shot him with it. No other politician had the acumen to pick on this and she did. The delivery was classy and she spoke in 3 languages - Malay, Mandarin and English.

Sorry ah....how can you suka suka apologize for what another person say? Even though i constantly screw Old Fart, i believe no one has the right to make an apology on his behalf.

Can he say he is not apologising or that no one need apologise on anyone's behalf? Sue her? Let us see what transpire in the next few days as the ball is in their court. hv also heard Michelle Lee n agree she too comes across well...wif heart n also wif intellect...

another lady who has impressed me as well is Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss...fiesty, compassionate, entertaining n also clever...used the case of the beef noodle hawker's plight viz increase in NEA rental v well...

She should also apologize on behalf of G.Bush for the 'shock & awe'? I am sure many countries will appreciate and give her credits for doing so. If she still get offended by the comments made by LKY, she can represent the Malay community in suing MM Lee and ask for an official apology from him. If someone does something to score brownie points, they do it because they think they will be praised for it.

LKY's contribution to Singapore is unsurpassed.

Singaporeans' stagnant wages, packed MRT trains and ballooning housing prices.

Stagnant wages vs those risk takers who earn more? Singaporeans' purchasing power are many times better than neighboring countries.

Packed MRT? Is this crucial or deciding factors for voting the oppositions? Have she ever worked outside of Singapore?

Ballooning housing prices is due to supply vs demand, besides increase cost of materials. No Singaporeans benefited from the increase value of the HDB flats?

We are on thin ice here but if she can choose her words carefully after legal advice, that may be another armour piercing cluster bomb from a velvet glove.

Did you really think he would have apologized? He does not think what he said is wrong. He just stood corrected because he was forced to. Look at the Charlie Rose interview he did in March 11.
