Gamvros, Barlow and two friends, who live in an unaffected area of Brisbane, wanted to help flood victims but said they lacked any tools so they bought their barbeque to the devastated riverside suburb and handed out free sausage sandwiches and hand sanitizer.

The flood affected damage can be seen at Suncorp Stadium in the suburb of Milton on January 15, 2011 in Brisbane, Australia. Volunteers are gathering across the city to assist flood-affected residents as they return to damaged homes as the Brisbane river recedes after flooding over 25,000 Brisbane residents and leaving over 100,000 residences without power. The floods in Brisbane and the Lockyer Valley have so far claimed the lives of 16 people with many more still reported missing in region.

Rockampton experienced some of Queensland's worst floods early in the year when Fitzroy River peaked at 9.2 metres, shutting down the town and forcing residents to move to evacuation centres.
