The truth of the matter is the amount is false. All this numbers is only there to get the appropriate permits.

I know business owners who blatantly lie in work permit/pass forms about wages in order to get the MOM to approve it.

The thing is MOM knows about it and does nothing. If they were to clamp down on this, Holland V, Chijmes, Boat Quey, Clarke Quey and countless F & B outlets in Sinkeetown would loose 50 - 80 percent of their staff.

You are absolutely right. The MOM is there to only enforce companies and PAP's law and not help workers.

This particular case is about employers lying in their application to get the apppropriate work permits.

Even fast foods outlets do not pay their local staff this much and MOM knows it.

I have hired Locals at my foodcourts. As compared to Foreign workers, they are a real joke !! As if, I owe them a living like that, with attitudinal problems, lazy, etc etc. My foreign workers are much better !!
