SCDF team recovers body of man from Singapore River

SCDF's rescuers searching for missing subject.
SINGAPORE: A man died in the Singapore River on Thursday morning.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to a water rescue incident at Tan Tye Place around 3.40am.
SCDF immediately dispatched two fire engines, one heavy rescue tender, an ambulance, one lighting tender and a support vehicle to the location near Novotel Clarke Quay.
Search and rescue operations were carried out at the location where the subject was last seen.
The body of the man, believed to be in his twenties, was found some 3 metres from the riverbank about an hour later. The victim was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
