Bragging rights are up for grabs when Lazio host Roma in the big Serie A fixture of the weekend on Sunday.
Just two points separate the teams from Rome at the moment, with Lazio one spot higher than their traditional rivals in fifth place with 19 points.
A victory for Roma will catapult them above Lazio and it is interesting to note that these two teams have not played out a draw since 2007.
Roma hold a 7-4 advantage in head-to-head results since that 0-0 draw in April 2007, so it might be time for another stalemate.
Meanwhile, Juventus can get a jump on their title rivals when they travel to Abruzzo to play Pescara on Saturday.
Antonio Conte's side have a one-point lead at the top of the Serie A table, with Inter Milan their closest challengers in second and Napoli a further four points back in third.
But Inter Milan and Napoli are not in action until Sunday, giving Juventus the chance to go further clear at the head of proceedings.
However their task to do so will not be easy, given Pescara have proven to be tough opposition since their return to the top flight.
So far they have conceded just 17 goals from their 11 league matches, with on-loan shot-stopper Mattia Perin proving to be a tough 'keeper to pass.
Perin kept a clean sheet when Pescara won 2-0 at home against Parma last weekend and Juventus will need to be at their best to get anything past him.
However, Juventus, who saw their 49-game unbeaten league run ended by Inter, have one of the best attacking line-ups in the league as shown by their 23 goals from 11 matches.
Those goals have been shared around though, with Arturo Vidal their leading scorer with four.
Vidal was on target as Juventus won 4-0 during the week in the Champions League against Danish side Nordsjaelland and the Chilean is one player that Pescara will need to keep a close eye on.
Inter Milan also have a tough game this weekend, with their trip to Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia to tackle Atalanta likely to prove difficult.
Atalanta have conceded just seven times in their five home matches this season and the likes of Diego Milito and Antonio Cassano will need to have their goal scoring boots on.
Third-placed Napoli should have an easier time of it when they travel to Stadio Luigi Ferraris to play relegation-threatened Genoa.
Genoa have won just once at home this season and Napoli will be confident of taking the three points in what should be a low-scoring encounter.
The weekend's action kicks off on Saturday when Cagliari host Catania, but most eyes that day will be on Juventus' match with Pescara.
Palermo play host to Sampdoria in the early kick-off on Sunday in a match that promises to be tight between two relegation candidates, while there are a further four matches kicking off later in the day.
San Siro will be the venue for AC Milan's match with high-flying Fiorentina, Chievo Verona host Udinese, Parma play Siena at home, while Torino entertain Bologna.

Inter have slapped a Twitter ban on midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The Netherlands international uses his social media account to interact with over one million followers and though he is yet to be involved in any incident of note on the site, his wife tweeted the news that he will no longer be using the online tool.
“My husband, @sneijder101010, can no longer write on Twitter,” she explained through her own account.
“It is a decision from the club. They said he cannot even support or compliment the team. I am sad because he always gives his best for the team with all of his heart.
“It is odd, but it is okay. You will all see how Wesley will return to winning ways with Inter.”
Sneijder remains on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury against Chievo in September.
Juventus returned to winning ways in the Serie A with an emphatic 6-1 thrashing of Pescara at Stadio Adriatico on Saturday.
Antonio Conte's side were irresistible just a game after their undefeated league run ended at 49 games, with Fabio Quagliarella bagging a hat-trick in a scintillating team performance.
Arturo Vidal broke the deadlock after nine minutes with a well-struck finish, before Quagliarella made it 2-0 with an equally clinical strike from inside the area on 22 minutes.
Pescara threatened to make a game of it when Emmanuel Cascione halved the deficit with his head three minutes later, but an acrobatic overhead kick from Kwadwo Asamoah on the half-hour mark restored Juventus' two-goal advantage.
Sebastian Giovinco volleyed home a fourth goal after combining superbly with Quaglierella, who then bagged his second with a deadly finish just before half-time.
The rout did not end there, with Quagliarella firing home a magnificent volley from a corner on 53 minutes to cap off a fine individual display.
The win moves Juventus four points clear at the top of the table from nearest challengers Inter Milan, who are in action on Sunday away to Atalanta having ended Juventus' streak last weekend.
In Saturday's other match, Cagliari were held to a goalless draw by Catania at the Stadio Is Arenas.
Mariano Andujar pulled off a string of great saves to earn a point for Catania after the visitors had pressed early.
Cagliari's best chance came moments before half time when Marco Sau rounded the keeper only for Andujar to scramble back and parry an angled drive away from the open net.
From the resulting corner, Sau again got good power on a header but was denied by Andujar's lightening reflexes.

It was a bad day for the Milan clubs as Inter lost at Atalanta and AC Milan slipped up against Fiorentina.In Sunday night's late game, Inter Milan lost ground on Serie A leader Juventus after suffering a 3-2 loss at Atalanta.
Giacomo Bonaventura nodded Atalanta ahead early in the match but Inter retained control of much of the encounter, despite their patient build-ups amounting to nothing by the break.
The visitors received some reward for their efforts 11 minutes after the break as Freddy Guarin powered in a free kick, but German Denis gave Atalanta the lead once again on the hour, before hsi 67th-minute spot kick extended the advantage.
Rodrigo Palacio pulled one back for Inter six minutes from time but the Nerazzurri could not find an equaliser as they now find themselves four points adrift of Juventus in second place on the Italian table while Atalanta climb to sixth.
AC Milan, meanwhile, crashed back down to earth after they were soundly beaten 3-1 at home to Fiorentina.
Milan were undefeated in three league games heading into the encounter but goals from former midfielder Alberto Aquilani, Borja Valero and Mounir El Hamdaoui ensured that run came to an abrupt end at the San Siro.
Fiorentina hit the front with 10 minutes gone, Adem Ljajic teeing up Aquilani 12 yards from goal, allowing the Italian international to curl it past an outstretched Christian Abbiati.
An opportunity for a Milan equaliser presented itself after Facundo Roncaglia was yellow-carded for clattering into Alexandre Pato inside the 18-yard box on 33 minutes, but the Brazilian striker skied his effort over the crossbar.
Valero capitalised on Massimiliano Allegri's distracted side, burrowing a hole through their defence from the left edge of the box and striking low into the far corner of the net.
Giampaolo Pazzini pulled a goal back on the hour mark, pouncing on a loose ball five yards from goal after Philippe Mexes hit the post from 15 yards with an outrageous backheel.
The goal upped the game's tempo significantly but as Milan went in search of an equaliser, they left plenty of space open around the pitch and El Hamdaoui took full advantage, securing victory with a delightful chip three minutes from time.
Fiorentina stay fourth on the table after Napoli came from behind to beat lowly Genoa 4-2 thanks to three late goals from Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik and Lorenzo Insigne, while Milan are 13th with their fourth home defeat in seven league matches.
Lazio earned bragging rights following their 3-2 victory over Roma in the Rome derby, which saw both sides end the match with 10 men.
Argentine Erik Lamela headed home the opener for Roma in the ninth minute before Antonio Candreva levelled proceedings after 35 minutes.
Miroslav Klose doubled Lazio's advantage on the stroke of half-time before their hopes of victory were given a boost moments later when Daniele De Rossi saw red for an elbow on Stefano Mauri.
Mauri made it three for Vladimir Petkovic's side before he was sent off with five minutes remaining, as Roma reduced the deficit from the resulting free kick.
Elsewhere on Sunday, a Paulo Dybala brace inspired Palermo to a 2-0 win over Sampdoria, Torino edged Bologna 1-0, Udinese salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw at Chievo, while Parma and Siena played out a goalless stalemate.

Franco Baldini has revealed that Daniele De Rossi will face a fine after his red card against Lazio.
The 29-year-old was sent off for punching Stefano Mauri, as Roma fell to a 3-2 defeat to their great rivals, and after Cesare Prandelli left the midfielder out of the Italy squad because of his actions, further sanctions look set to follow.
"The club’s position is clear. In these cases, we will fine the player based on how long they are suspended for,” Baldini told Football Italia.
“I spoke to Daniele before the game and he wanted to do well. He was really determined to achieve a positive result and seeing Lazio fight back to go in front must have brought this reaction out of him."
Baldini was also quick to play down an alleged rift between Zdenek Zeman and Miralem Pjanic, following speculation that the midfielder shouted insults towards the coach after he scored.
“Pjanic was not angry at Zeman. This squad is made up of over 22 players and everyone has to compete for a place. The lad clarified the situation and there is nothing to discuss," he explained.
“It is normal that someone has to be left out and that they will react to it, as they care about the cause. Pjanic is an exemplary professional and we will leave it at that.”

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has stated that the club do not intend to sack coach Massimiliano Allegri, despite their poor start to the season.
After the departure of a number of key players, the Rossoneri have struggled this term, and currently sit in 13th place in Serie A, having already suffered six defeats.
They slipped to a 3-1 loss to Fiorentina on Sunday, and although speculation that Allegri could soon be sacked is rife, Galliani believes a coaching change could be counter-productive.
"It is obvious that we are not happy," the 68-year-old told reporters on Monday.
“We evaluated everything last night and changing the coach would not have given us any guarantees …
“Silvio Berlusconi and I had a long talk last night and then we called Allegri at around midnight and told him that we have faith in him.
“We have confirmed Allegri as the coach of Milan. He has done well in the past two years and this is the decision we have made.”
Milan's next fixture is a potentially-tricky trip to Napoli on November 17.

The big guns do battle in Serie A this weekend with a number of players returning to their club sides after Italy's 2-1 friendly loss to France.
AC Milan's Stephan El Shaarawy sparked a largely youthful Italian side with a beautiful finish in the first half of the match on Wednesday before France replied with two goals.
The 20-year-old linked up well with Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli and will be an integral figure yet again when Milan take on third-placed Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo.
Napoli are five points behind leaders Juventus, who take on Lazio on Saturday.
Striker Miroslav Klose could be back for Lazio having missed Germany's 0-0 draw with the Netherlands on Wednesday.
The Rome-based side are coming off a 3-2 win against Roma in the derby but Antonio Conte's Juventus are also in a purple patch having discarded Pescara 6-1 in their last league game.
Simone Pepe should be at the disposal of Conte for his first appearance of the season.
Roma are back in action at home to Torino on Monday and will likely be without midfielder Daniele De Rossi, who had crisis talks with the club this week following his red card against Lazio.
The midfielder was given a straight red for striking Lazio captain Stefano Mauri and could be on his way out of the club with head coach Zdenek Zeman refusing to include him in the centre of the park.
Second-placed Inter Milan host Cagliari on Sunday following last weekend's 3-2 loss to Atalanta, who are up to sixth after a third straight win.
On Sunday, they travel to face Fiorentina who moved up to fourth on the table with a fourth consecutive victory.
Struggling Sampdoria take on Genoa at the Stadio Comunale on Sunday with both sides on five-game losing streaks.

Ex-Real Madrid midfielder Luis Figo has slammed former Brazil international Adriano's approach to the game during their time at Inter.
The remarks come as Adriano, who had just signed a contract with his boyhood team Flamengo this year, has had yet more disciplinary problems which have eventualy led to the player's departure from the club.
Figo believes the former Inter forward is the architect of his own downfall.
“Adriano is the classic example of how to destroy your talent,” the 40-year-old told Placar.
“Talent is secondary though, if you do not balance it with dedication and professionalism – two things he completely lacked."
He then singled out Selecao legend Ronaldo as a prime example of how to become a successful sportsman.
He added: “Ronaldo on the other hand was an incredible talent. When he was not having physical problems he was unstoppable – the best of all in my opinion.”
Figo appeared 127 times for Portugal during his career, scoring 32 goals for the country.

Antonio Conte says he has been left astounded by comments made by Antonio Cassano, as the war of words between the pair rumbles on.
The Inter forward labelled the Juventus coach a "quaquaraqua" - Neapolitan slang for somebody who talks a lot but without any substance - and said Conte could not comment on his actions due to his own moral misgivings.
That accusation has forced the 43-year-old to issue a fierce defence of himself and deliver a damning verdict on the 30-year-old's latest outburst.
"I was astounded to read the statements from Mr Cassano, following which I am forced to make certain clarifying points,” he told the official Juventus website.
“First of all I never used the term morality, despite the fact I have it in spades. I have already expressed my opinion on the ban for failing to report match-fixing in the past.”
The former AC Milan man also claimed the Bianconeri only ever sign small players, with Conte insisting the club purchase those with specific professional characteristics - an area he says Cassano is lacking.
"When asked how I choose players for Juventus, I said we look to the man, by which I meant how he interprets the role of a footballer in a professional manner," he continued.
“That means effort, commitment, respecting the rules and the roles of others, plus caring about the common good of the team.
“I think that Mr Cassano has already shown many times over his career both on and off the field – such as his impressions of Fabio Capello at Real Madrid or insulting gestures at referee Roberto Rosetti and other incidents – that he does not have the requisite characteristics I am looking for."
Stephan El Shaarawy scored twice to salvage AC Milan a 2-2 draw at Napoli, while Juventus and Lazio played out a goalless draw on Saturday.
Milan trailed 2-0 after 30 minutes but a brace from Serie A's leading goalscorer ensured the honours were shared at the Stadio San Paolo.
In light of last weekend's demoralising defeat at home to Fiorentina, it was imperative that a Milan side desperately low on confidence made a solid start to the game.
They did not, gifting their hosts a goal inside four minutes.
There appeared to be little to worry about when Gokhan Inler let fly from distance but Christian Abbiati was completely deceived by the Swiss international's swerving shot and could only watch on forlornly as the ball flew past him.
The visitors responded well to falling behind, dominating possession and territory, albeit without really threatening to score.
Napoli's second goal came as a hammer blow.
Again Abbiati was at fault, the veteran goalkeeper somehow allowing Lorenzo Insigne's low strike to go under his body with 30 minutes played.
Massimiliano Allegri's troops refused to let their heads drop and El Shaarawy, so often their saviour this season, dragged them back into a game that looked lost with a stunning effort from the edge of the area.
Buoyed by that wonderful strike, Milan bossed the second period and Bojan Krkic toed wide after a terrific move down the right-hand side before Kevin-Prince Boateng wasted a decent headed opening.
And they eventually drew level inside the final seven minutes when El Shaarawy calmly side-footed the ball past Morgan De Sanctis, taking his season tally to 10 goals.
Defending champions Juventus stuttered to a scoreless stalemate at home to Lazio, their first draw in nine league matches.
Juventus dominated proceedings and spent the final half-hour in the visitors' half, but never really looked like finding a way past goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, even though Leonardo Bonucci rattled the crossbar from close range.
Antonio Conte's side have now failed to win their past two home league matches, and although they moved five points clear at the summit, Inter Milan will have the opportunity to close the gap to two points when they play Cagliari on Sunday.
An 82nd-minute own goal by Davide Astori saved Inter Milan from two straight league defeats in a 2-2 draw with Cagliari.
After losing 3-2 to Atalanta last week, Inter trailed Cagliari 2-1 on Sunday before Astori handed them a share of the spoils.
Rodrigo Palacio put Inter ahead after 10 minutes but Marco Sau equalised for the visitors two minutes before half-time.
Sau struck again in the 66th minute when a volley from Mauricio Pinilla fell to the striker who made no mistake.
Sau's two goals looked to have been enough to rule out Palacio's score until Astori's own goal.
The draw moved second-placed Inter to 28 points, four behind Juventus, while Cagliari are 11th on 16 points.
Fiorentina defeated Atalanta 4-1 on the back of a brace five minutes before half-time from midfielder Alberto Aquilani at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Gonzalo Javier put Fiorentina in front after six minutes but Giacomo Bonaventura equalised in the 33rd minute off an assist by Cristian Raimondi.
Aquilani's first goal came after 42 minutes and his second, two minutes into first-half stoppage time, gave Fiorentina a two-goal advantage.
Aquilani turned playmaker early in the second half, assisting Luca Toni to score in the 49th minute.
Fiorentina are fourth on 27 points, nine ahead of Atalanta who are seventh.
Bologna routed Palermo 3-0 with penalties to Manolo Gabbiadini and Alessandro Diamanti against the eight-man side.
Alberto Gilardino scored Bologna's first after 22 minutes which, combined with Gabbiadini's 44th minute penalty, gave the home side a 2-0 lead.
Palermo's three sending-offs came in the second half with goalkeeper Samir Ujkani (46th minute), Edgar Barreto (72nd) and Carlos Labrin (82nd) all being shown red cards by referee Paolo Valeri.
Diamanti's penalty at the 48th minute ensured Bologna's upset of the 14th placed Palermo (11), while Bologna are 15th on 11 points.
Catania defeated Chievo 2-1 at Stadio Angelo Massimino with two second-half goals to Sergio Almiron proving the difference.
Almiron added to his 51st-minute opener with a goal five minutes from time.
Marco Andreolli hit the net for Chievo two minutes into stoppage time but his strike proved too little too late for the visitors.
Siena beat Pescara 1-0 after Francesco Valiani netted 31 minutes in while Udinese drew 2-2 with Parma in a battle between two mid-table sides.
Genoa remain bottom after slumping to yet another loss, defeated 3-1 by Sampdoria.

AC Milan and Serie A leaders Juventus clash on Sunday after both secured safe passage to the Champions League's knockout stages.
Though their league standing contrasts greatly - Juventus are first, Milan 12th - both sides have reason to celebrate after mid-week successes.
Antonio Conte's Juventus disposed of Chelsea's 'false nine' formation with surgical precision on Tuesday in a 3-0 win, earning considerable validation against the Champions League holders.
Milan, meanwhile, caught Anderlecht on the break in a 3-1 win and are also safely through to the last 16.
Defender Philippe Mexes, who netted a overhead strike on Wednesday, limped off late and will be monitored.
Injury-plagued striker Alexandre Pato is threatening to quit the club in January if he does not receive more playing time.
The Brazilian has been kept at bay by the staggering form of Stephan El Shaarawy, who has 10 league goals already, but given the club's financial woes, a move away may be beneficial for both parties.
Juventus have shown time and time again they are near impossible to beat in Serie A but with the lethal Shaarawy and the home fixture, Milan may have enough fire power to trouble the league leaders.
Inter Milan are sweating on suspended duo Antonio Cassano and head coach Andrea Stramaccioni for their protests at the end of the 2-2 draw with Cagliari, which the club says they will appeal.
Cassano was handed a two-match ban and Stramaccioni one match for their reactions to the referee's decision not to award a late penalty, with both set to miss Inter's trip to Parma on Monday.
Inter are second in the table, four points behind Juventus, but could have cut that to two had the penalty been awarded.
In the other match on Monday, Cagliari entertain fourth-placed Napoli at the Stadio Is Arenas.
Third-placed Fiorentina will be looking to make it six wins on the trot at Torino on Sunday while Sampdoria host Bologna, who hauled themselves off the bottom of the table with a 3-0 win over Palermo.
On Friday, Palermo take on seventh-placed Catania, who are undefeated in four games.
Lazio take on Udinese on Tuesday with the latter looking to break a run of four straight draws.
On Sunday, Atalanta play rock-bottom Genoa, Chievo host lowly Siena while sitting only one point above the drop zone themselves and Pescara welcome Roma to the Stadio Adriatico.

Italian football federation chief Giancarlo Abete has expressed his "outrage" at anti-semitic attacks on Tottenham supporters during their trip to Rome for the Europa League clash with Lazio.
Spurs drew 0-0 with the Serie A side, however it was off-the-field incidents that grabbed the headlines with reports that 50 masked hooligans launched an organised assault on a bar containing followers of the north London outfit in the early hours of Thursday.
Two Italians, believed to be fans of Lazio's rivals Roma, have since been charged with attempted murder after the attack left 11 people injured. Further reports from the match itself indicate home fans chanted "Juden Tottenham", which means "Tottenham Jews" in German, as an attack on Spurs' Jewish roots.
Abete has condemned the abuse and violence in a letter to Football Association chairman David Bernstein, as well as apologising and giving his support to the investigation.
He wrote: "I have already had the opportunity to publicly express my condemnation and outrage at what has happened.
"We would like to extend our apologies to all of the Tottenham fans and, in particular, to the families of the people involved.
"We are following the investigation closely and remain at the disposal of the authorities to help take this case forward."
The letter comes after the FA announced its intention to present Uefa a report from a crowd control advisor that witnessed the clash on Thursday evening, following the "alarming" reports of anti-Semitic chants.
Abete continued by indicating his belief that the attacks were indeed religion-motivated, and by highlighting his disappointment that football has given those guilty a stage for their extremist views.
"Once again, unfortunately, football has been used as a vehicle by mindless thugs to express their racist and anti-Semitic views," he added.
"This was unquestionably the motive behind this attack, which has damaged the image of our football and does not reflect the real tradition of warmth and hospitality in the city of Rome."
Palermo brushed aside Catania 3-1 to move three points clear of the relegation zone in the Serie A on Saturday.
Fabrizio Miccoli opened the scoring after just 10 minutes before Josip Ilicic fired a second-half brace to put the home side 3-0 ahead.
Francesco Lodi gave Catania some hope with a goal on 71 minutes but the away side could not find another way past Gian Piero Gasperini's men.
The win ensures Palermo move clear of the bottom three while Catania miss the chance to climb to sixth on the table with the rest of the league due to play on Sunday.
Serie A wrap: Milan surprise Juve, Roma down Pescara

AC Milan clinched a valuable 1-0 win over Serie A leaders Juventus at the San Siro on Sunday to blow the title race wide open.
Juventus suffered only their second defeat in the league this season after failing to respond to Robinho's 31st-minute penalty.
The champions maintained their four-point lead at the top of the table, but could see that gap cut to a single point should third-placed Inter Milan overcome Parma away from home on Monday.
Elsewhere, Roma posted their second straight victory with a 1-0 win at Pescara, who slipped to the bottom of the table.
Mattia Destro struck the decisive goal in the fifth minute, securing three points for coach Zdenek Zeman in his first match against Pescara since guiding the club to promotion from Serie B last season.
Fiorentina twice came from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw with promoted Torino.
Alessio Cerci broke the deadlock five minutes before the break but Fiorentina's Gonzalo Rodriguez equalised from the spot with less than 20 minutes to go.
Torino hit straight back to regain the lead through Valter Birsa before substitute Mounir El Hamdaoui earned the visitors a share of the points in the 84th minute.
Sampdoria accounted for relegation candidates Bologna 1-0, while Genoa climbed out of the drop zone with a 1-0 win at Atalanta.
Finally, Chievo played host to Siena in a 0-0 stalemate.
