Samsung the best 100 Million Units.. iphone can drop dead

true, spot on bro.

My contract ends in Sep this year will dump iphone and swtich to Samsung. iphone control what they want you to do, sucks big time.

1 word to Apple. YOU SUCK, just like miw, pay $$$ for your products yet control what we can do that you want us to do..

If I have to get a new Android phone this year, I'll get Sony Xperia Z.

Samsung's cheap plastic and pentile AMOLED screen don't appeal to me.

Xperia Z

iPhones will still be around no matter what Android does.... can't say the same for Windows phones.

Not bad... many people dun dare to put their phone near water, this one solves all that.

The hardware is cool. what about the phone and communication functions.

Apple's glorious days are over. Its shares price is passing under 500; down from its recent high of 700.

The last time Apple share trade below 500 was on the 13th Feb 2012.

Recently Apple had to cancel their order of IPhone 5 monitors because of poor sales of their IPhone 5.

Try a nokia 8800, I'm still using the same one for 10 years. Get in quick before they decide not to make them anymore. Try also Vertu if you have the dole. Either that, many chinese made "simple" phones are out there. Try dx.com.

In relation to this thread. Here is something I've observed about Apple products, its never about the volume they are after. ;)

My former experience with Nokia is that you got to remember all those keyboard combinations. Is that still true:confused:

I like that Nokia still has simple phones but just don't want to memorize those keyboard combinations. :o

Hope not because I still hold some shares.

I suspect that Apple has become a favourite target for some analysts who like to manipulate the market. They spread good or bad rumors depending on which end of the market they stand. How else can you explain a jump from 500's to 700's in a few months. Then a fall from 700's to 500's in just a few weeks:confused:

What do you mean by key combination??

Nokia was well known for it's short cuts(key combinations) for checking mail, sending an SMS, ,... As I wasn't a hard core user I found the Sony Ericsson's graphical interface easier than Nokia.

They have icons on the screen for you to select in the menu. How hard can that be? As for shortcut, you can chose which one to use for which ever button.

hate to jump in on this thorny subject but have to to dispel myths. although iphone, ios and the apple ecosystem tightly control apps running on the platform, this obsession with flawlessness and quality control has several advantages for mass consumers. most consumers would not need to dive into the kernel, tweak the os, jailbreak some restrictions and custom mod the phone for personal use. for example, if you "kill" an app on an iphone, ios gives you the perception and "confidence" that you have stopped running it. test that with battery consumption, and you can see a marked improvement in battery life when you "kill" as many apps as possible running in the background. try to do that with android, and you'll be disappointed. the android platform is controlled by google. while you think you have full or partial control of the android os in customizing your phone, what you do not know is that google has control of you, your privacy, movements, whereabouts, what you do often, like, dislike, favorite sites you go to, etc. apps managers on android are useless as you think you "killed" a running app, but that confidence and surety is not 100%. google has so many freaking apps running in the background and without your (full) permission (well, when you accept use of the phone and android os in your contract, you actually sign away your life to google). it's extremely difficult to curtail battery drainage on android devices because apps you think you have killed may pop up or resurrect without you knowing it.

Can you believe they still have not released an untethered JB for ios 6.0.1 up till now?

It's like the JB dev groups have just fuck cared about it.

Must have been 10+ years back since I've used a Nokia. However even back then a Sony Ericcson phone was much easier to use because of it's graphical user interface. I don't know if Nokia has improved the user interface.

Maybe Nokia has made improvements & maybe not, that may explain why they have lost market share.

No, the reason why Nokia lost market share was because it appointed an ex-Microsoft man to be its CEO.

Stephen Elop is ruining Nokia from within.

Nokia lost, not because they din make improvements. They lost because they did not go into the smartphone market quick enough. Nokia was earning hands over fist in asia and is world number one seller. They are reliable, easy to use. What killed them is the emergence of even cheaper phones from china and the iphone. They are literally squeezed from the bottom and the top. Just think about the mobile phones 10 years ago. Top brands were essentially Nokia, Ericson, Motorola. TOday, its Apple, Samsung. In another 10 years? Hwawei? Lenovo? HTC? Another thing is possible, if you are an incumbent you better be prepared for disruptive technology like the iphone.

Hindsight is always 20/20...Nokia was king of the hill then and nobody even themselves predicted they could be so down and out now.....but they did had a good and long run at the top.

It happened to all the brands....Motorola was king then Ericsson for a while before Nokia came along.

Even for smart phones....blackberry held court once....look at where they are now. Apple is still top but for how long more is anyone's guess....without incideht Samsung should be the next to reign.

I was looking for a camera which is compact with good image quality. I originally looked at Canon because my old camera is a canon & I was happy with it but it's 6+ years old. After looking around I went with a Sony RX100. It has a Carl Zeiss lens.

If you want a small camera which can capture good details you should take a look at it before considering a Samsung or any other camera. This camera has a 1 inch sensor the same kind of sensor used by DSLRs but without the bulk.
