Why Japan are so prejudiced toward China? Japan has conveniently forgotten that they were given a decent WW2 surrender from the Republic of China, compare that with the humiliations of being declined a decent surrender from Russians.

Diaoyutai was ceded to Japan as part of Taiwan after 甲午战争。Japan later redrew it under Okinawa as Senkaku (something like Singapore GRC gerrymandering). After WW2 Japanese surrender, all should be returned to ROC. Since PRC now has the whole of mainland China and ROC has only Taiwan province, the Diaoyutai should rightly belong to ROC on Taiwan.
