It does not matter that NCM claimed that he never stopped caring. I believe that if NCM has been caring, he would have rejected the foreign company possible acquisition of NTUC Income.

I believe no logical reasonable and patriotic government would sign an agreement such as CECA, because clearly no individual with a sound mind would sign it with a country of one billion people, when such as agreement allows free inflow of individuals. I may be unaware, but whatever the investment opportunities for Singapore, its positive effects are outweighed by the inflow of undesirable (and dare I say, many of those individuals with unproven academic credentials or professional qualifications).
Does the PAP not see all the problems and undesirable issues caused by the influx of Indian nationals, so far.
I would urge Singaporeans to consider and vote for more MPs from the opposition, and encourage them to push the government to give the required notice, to terminate CECA.

Jalan Kayu Is Not a Dumping Ground for Political Has-Beens

Gan Thiam Poh walked the ground, listened, and delivered. For three terms, he quietly improved facilities, engaged residents sincerely, and never saw himself above anyone. He earned trust the hard way—with humility and consistency.

So why was he dropped in GE2025?

Because Lawrence Wong decided that Jalan Kayu should be the political rehab centre for Ng Chee Meng—a man voters had already rejected in Sengkang. The party discarded a grounded, loyal MP… for an airy-fairy parachute candidate who speaks of “serving” but behaves like he expects to be served.

Let’s talk about Ng’s record.

As NTUC chief, he oversaw the demutualisation of NTUC Income, quietly turning a cooperative built for Singaporeans into a company. In 2024, it was nearly sold to foreign insurer Allianz—a deal that only stalled because PSP’s Leong Mun Wai raised the alarm in Parliament. No consultation. No policyholder vote. Just backroom deals and PR spin about “sustainability” and “growth.”

This isn’t service—it’s spin. It’s the kind of leadership that sells out the people it claims to protect.

Now Ng’s being dropped into Jalan Kayu, expecting residents to embrace him simply because of his rank and past titles. As if we’re supposed to forget he failed once, and now return him to power without question.

Jalan Kayu is not a parachute landing pad.

It’s time to send a clear message: We don’t reward entitlement. We reward sincerity. If the PAP won’t respect the people’s voice, then the people must show them how it sounds at the ballot box.

Vote Workers’ Party. Vote for someone who doesn’t treat Jalan Kayu as a career move—but as a community worth standing up for.

Andre’s career reflects his commitment to taking on new challenges. Starting out as a disputes lawyer with Drew & Napier under the tutelage of Senior Counsel Davinder Singh, he then ventured into the startup space, building products in legal-tech, urban mobility, and health-tech that connected people and solved real-world problems.

His experience led him to Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he helped startups across Asia harness cloud technology to scale their impact. As a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), he worked on transformation and upskilling initiatives that prepared organisations for future challenges. Today, Andre applies his diverse experience as a Staff Product Manager at a global fintech company.

Andre holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from University College London, where he graduated 3rd in his cohort, and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, where he was a Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholar.
