The Taliban has seized scores of American weapons and military equipment from Afghan security forces as the terrorist group accelerates its takeover following the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the country.

Taliban terrorists are now in possession of U.S.-made military vehicles, anti-aircraft guns, armored tanks, and artillery. The munitions were provided to Afghan security forces to secure the country as the United States ends its two-decade war there. The Taliban have overwhelmed Afghan forces, taking over key Afghan provinces and using U.S. weapons to power the offensive.

“These captured systems will increase the mobility and lethality of the Taliban, making them a more formidable adversary,” said Bradley Bowman, senior director of the Center on Military and Political Power at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. “We have already seen the Taliban using captured humvees to patrol Kunduz and Sar-e Pol.”

With the situation in Afghanistan deteriorating, the United States announced that it is sending 3,000 troops back into the country to help evacuate the vulnerable American embassy in Kabul. President Joe Biden left for vacation shortly after the announcement. Vice President Kamala Harris dodged questions about the situation on Thursday afternoon, when a reporter asked if “Afghanistan is lost to the Taliban.” Harris would not answer, but said she would be briefed on the matter.

Military experts fear Afghanistan will once again become a breeding ground for terrorists and militant groups like al Qaeda.

Annie Aleman, a GOP strategist with the American Security Project, predicted on Thursday that Kabul could soon fall to the Taliban.

“It is very reasonable to expect that Kabul will fall by the 20th anniversary of 9/11 this year,” Aleman said….

Its obvious the US, China slready knew Taliban will win. Both have had discussions with talibsns.
Taliban are mostly pashtuns. Only 1/3 of pashtuns live in Afghanistan. The rest in Pakistan. And they too want their own homeland.
Once Afghanistan falls, we may see pashtuns going for their portion of Pakistan.
Plus, Afghanistan is not a country thst can be controlled easily.
Eventually, Taliban will control Kabul, but in the countryside, various tribes control their areas.

Syariah law will cause civil war. I don't think any of the immediate Islamic neighbours wants it to proceed.
In any case, syariah law is based on biblical laws. Copied from the old and new testament.

Look at brunei, where got civil war?

all those weapons will probably fail within a decade from lack of spare parts. like the stinger missiles from the 80s.

those hummers will drain their fuel supplies very quickly

I was there on a Friday and they ushered me into the mosque. It was years since I been in there. If caught outside on Friday, I could be punished,

China lah. US intelligence probably found evidence Chinese supporting Taliban, now without US forces either China stop financing them or be exposed for financing terror. A strategic victory in either case.

Obviously I have no liking for the Taliban or their brand of Sharia Law governance, but having seen video clips and photos of offices and residences of the officials that are part of the US backed Afghan National Government I am not surprised the Taliban are steam rolling throughout the entire country.

For a country which is one of the poorest and least developed in the world, these Afghan officials were living / working in opulent “palaces” filled with luxuries. For example, there was a clip in which the Taliban stormed a General’s house and it was basically no different from an elite European noble’s. They also captured 12 expensive modified SUVs that belonged to the General as well.

Given that the vast majority of Afghans are living in abject poverty, how would these fat cats living on US payroll and raiding the country’s resources by colluding with western multi-national companies ever get the support of the ordinary Afghanis?

Plus their army are not well paid.not enough to die for. If injured, or die, no compensation as reported in documentary.

Yep, and it’s not just low pay, but no pride and nothing to fight for. The soldiers on the ground also know how corrupted the government is, they know their big bosses are living the Paris Hilton life while they are risking life and limb on the ground for pittance that’s not even worth bending over to pick up for the elites. They also know these fat cats will fly to US / UK at the first sign of trouble.

Worse still, I would imagine the general population must look at them in disdain seeing them as part of the corrupted machinery supporting invaders. The Taliban might behead a few senior officials or those they have personal grudges against, but for the vast majority it’s probably just surrender your arms and get on with your lives. If you were a national government soldier on the ground, why would you fight the Taliban? So that your senior commanders have more time to pack more gold on their way to New York / London?

That’s why we are seeing almost no resistance from the national army as the Taliban take over province after province, city after city.

Sounds like Vietnam all over again..

Thus one is a little bit more complicated. The north vietnam part is currently in parts of Pakistan. Will the pashtuns rebel and seek independence from Pakistan? Same as the baloch.
