Re: HDB Con, Once Again, U heard it here first from PAPsmearer

He is good and determined individual.
I believe that there are very individuals who can and will do, what he did.
He was a medical doctor in Singapore, emigrated to Edmonton, Canada, started working at a window manufacturer, and then as an Administrator in a real estate or land developer.
When he had an opportunity to write the Canadian medical exams, he did, he passed, and secured a medical resident position in Calgary.
I recalled that he asked me, and I suggested that whether or not he wish to practise medicine in Canada, he may wish to consider the resident's phase, and qualify as a medical doctor in Canada.
Decades ago, a few years after I arrived in Toronto, I enrolled as a CA student, did the required minimum three courses (law, income tax, Advanced Accounting) of foreign graduates, completed the 4 week School of Accountancy and passed the three day exams, and passed the four day four hour uniform final exams.
Thereafter, I did not do any accounting or auditing work.
When he migrate to hell?
Soon?

He said he open a few maid agencies in lucky plaze.

Why are you negative or pessimistic?

Because Nayr the asshole twists and turns. He say he is one thing and then says he is something else next. No one trusts him and everyone calls him on his bullshit. If u are a supporter to him then u are also suspect in their eyes.

I may appear to be "a supporter to him" because about 12 or 13 years ago, I met him and his family, for dinner.
That was prior to his application to emigrate to Australia and Canada.
Recently, the plans for our eldest child, who was travelling to British Columbia and Alberta, did not go as planned, because my wife's aunt was either ill or in hospital.
Whereas in BC, our friends and our daughter's friends were able to provide her with accommodation, our daughter would have to stay at youth hostel in Calgary and Banff.
On very short notice, I sent an email to [nayr69sg], and asked him whether he is able to help.
Not only, did he and his family provided a very well furnished and comfortable basement apartment for our daughter, his wife also picked up our daughter from the airport, and sent her to the airport.
She also drove our daughter to the bus station, on the day she went to Banff.

papsmearer, it is you guys who INSIST that I am not who I say I am. That I am NOT a doctor. That I am NOT in Canada. That I all kinds of vulgar curses and body parts. That I sexually abuse family members.

you people are so foul mouthed. Cannot win debates and arguments then all the foul language comes out, attack the person, distract from the original topic.

So I have been having fun instead of trying to hit my head on the brick wall.

You are welcome Charlie99. I still treasure very much your words of support and wisdom that helped me strive to achieve my goal of migration. Thank you.

I recall offering suggestions to several who indicated they desire to emigrate.
I have met a few and chatted over a meal.
But, you are definitely the most determined and flexible, including giving up medicine to work at a factory when you arrived in Edmonton.
I also suggested that you do the medical residency, regardless whether or not you wish to practise medicine in Canada.
You are who you are, and deserved all the satisfaction and success.
Wish you and your family, many happy, healthy, Blessed years.

Thanks Charlie99. You gave me the advice. I merely followed. As it is, it wasn't just you who gave the same advice.

Unfortunately, not everyone will follow the advice. My own sisters do not want to listen to the same advice.

Ok.....can we settle once and for all that I am a doctor who migrated to Canada, worked in non medical fields, including factory worker position, then passed the exams and fought to get into a residency position, graduated and is now working in Calgary as a family doctor.

Can? You guys say I am lying. Can you stop? I am telling the truth.

I am one of the witnesses.
Delighted to witness, one of the more successful and satisfied immigrants to Canada.

ur migration is more impressive,at least u migrated during a time when immigrants were rare and few people thought of venturing aboard......nay migrated during the age of globalisation and mass immigration bullshyt, where every tom dick and harry is a migrant, even fucking russians are migrating by the truckloads.....just look at our country and australia.......millions of 3rd world trash.....even if u come from some godforsaken village in china super farking peasant and farmer looking speaking some god awful dialect that maybe 0.000001 percent of the world population uses, they will welcome you with arms wide open if u are willing to hold a mop and bucket.

Charlie99, you think the Transmountain pipeline will get built?

Now it's owned by all of us in Canada.

Indeed. It is so easy to migrate these days. I wonder why the sinkies don't migrate?

Charlie99, maybe you can share some stories of people who got their PR but never moved? Or moved and then went back to Singapore? Or moved and are now not so successful and satisfied?

Thank you for your kind and generous comments.
I am flattered.
I was just lucky.
I wished, my parents, have emigrated (with us) to Canada, before I arrived in Toronto in 1981.
But serving NS, was also beneficial.

It will probably be built.
But I do not believe that the government should have interfered and invested government funds in it.
Too much inter provincial squabbling re: beer, wine, oil and pipelines.

It is BC who is the problem. Pipeline has been approved by the Feds and the previous Liberal BC govt.

But the current coalition govt with Green Party wants to play stalling tactics using the court to stall till private companies will not touch the project.

I can totally understand why private won't touch it.

I am surprised that Trudeau will go to the extent to buy the project. Goes to show the Canadian Economy is pretty dire.

I do not know any who received their "landed immigrant" status to Canada, but did not emigrate.
I also do not know any who moved to Canada and thereafter, returned to Singapore.
May be, I am the only one who immigrated to Canada, and is not financially successful. I believe that I am reasonably satisfied.

Besides myself, do you know of anyone else who migrated? What's their story like?

I only know those who migrated around the same time as me to Edmonton. We are all part of that asychee gang that went to Edmonton.

Any stories from Toronto? I would like to hear as my own sisters are considering going to Toronto or Vancouver instead of Calgary where I am. They say they aim to find high paying jobs in their field as their first job or else they will not move.

This runs counter to my own experience and the advice you and others gave me back in 2004.

With respect, I submit that the Honourable Prime Minister, is too soft.
In addition to the Pipeline, he appears to be trying to win votes.
Another matter which I disagree, is that of the swarm of refugees crossing from the USA, to Canada.
I believe that any government should take care of its current citizens and residents, rather than allow illegal migrants and refugees, to put significant stress and strain on the local governments re: refugees accommodation and welfare. If it is me (and of course, with my perspective, I will never win any votes), I would not accept any refugees, but send them back to the USA, to let the USA will deal with it.

As a mid career immigrant, I believe that it is unrealistic, to find high paying jobs in their field as their first job.
I know of a few from Singapore, who emigrated to the Toronto area.
One is another individual and his family, whom I chatted at Sammyboy,
When they arrived in Toronto, I bought them lunch at Springrolls. Thereafter, I met them may be two times.
I know of a financially successful schoolmate.
He and his family are in the Toronto area. Due to his comments to me, I did not meet them.
I know of a Malaysian Chinese who studied civil engineering at SU (from my days at Raffles Hall at Nassim Road, Bukit Timah campus), worked in SG, and was a professional in another field or an entrepreneur.
He was doing business in the Toronto area, while his wife and children were in Singapore.
He is probably financially very successful. His email response to me, was very curt. I did not meet him.
I know of several who are members of the NUS Alumni Toronto Chapter. I do not know them well, but it looks like they are doing well in the Toronto area.
