Manchester United with a reversed temporarily stopped the decline, but their crisis is far from eliminated, there are already seven league defeat in three games, the winner seems unrealistic goals. The former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar said the team did not need time to adapt to the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, perhaps in the next two years, the team will be nothing.

Their current training sessions are much tougher than those during Fergie reign. Give them some time. I think they will come back stronger.

Kagawa is weak defensively and I often wonder if he knows what he's suppose to do. Just watch him when he plays. Methinks Moyes should give him a chance though but drill it into his head that he must help out in defense otherwise his team mates will need to do the work for him.

it's easier and fun if you have the ball and control but every player knows that you need to do the 'dirty work' as well,ie. getting the ball back from your opponent. Young and Valencia do help out which is probably the reason why they're preferred.

Man U's DNA is simple- We attack and defend as ONE.

Between Young & Valencia, i prefer Valencia, at least he can play RB when needed. Young? Really an one trick pony.

Young defending? I think Scholes is better than him loh. His limp tackle gifted Liverpool the only goal this season.

No doubt Man U defend as one but for many seasons, we have a strong backline - Pallister & Bruce, Ferdinand & Vidic...and of course a safe pair of hands.

The classic Man U is one that have defense nullify the attack, and unleash lightning counterattack that will shake the opponent to the core, and never will they dare to attempt to full fledged attack.- the classic i recall - versus Arsenal, worked out between Rooney, Park and Ronaldo.

Roon's revelation on his fallout with Fergie, didn't want to play out of position (mid-field). Now he's happy, but still not telling on his next summer fortunes :p

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/09/wayne-rooney-reasons-leave-manchester-united?

honestly its rubbish. A professional play where his manager wants him to. And his manager knows the best for team. he is just unhappy he is not able show off by scoring goals- which is the most direct KPI for a striker.

However, with his fat paycheck, he ought to know to follow and contribute to the overall well being of the team. And when he is supposed to be leading the line, he has never performed. Ok, this season so far, he has performed ok because the overall team is fucked up - no thanks to Moyes strategy.

Well said. This farker is full of shit. The likes of Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo and many more should put him to shame. To placate that idiot, Moyes has set a precedent where players can choose where he wants to play. What was Moyes thinking!! SAF put him in a midfield role for reasons that you mentioned and it shouldn't be left to the player to pick and choose. The team should come first and not the individual.

If the ongoing theme is anything to go by, I shudder to think what lies ahead for the club. I'd love to see this thug leave the club soon as there are better players around to fill those boots.

Fergie: Backroom key to United success

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has pinpointed the secret to his success at Old Trafford, suggesting a harmonious back room staff was key during his tenure.

Ferguson retired after 26 highly successful years as United boss last summer and he admits the key elements to his glory were put in place off the field as much as on it.

"Three things are very important when you are working with [backroom staff] -- work ethic, loyalty, philosophy," Ferguson is quoted in the Daily Mirror.

"You all have to be singing the same tune, no matter how bad the tune is. It's important that your people agree with you and the way that we at United wanted to play, that was very important. A good backroom staff is vital to any manager and I had that at United."

Speaking at a UEFA coaching conference in Budapest, Ferguson went on to discuss the complexities of being a modern day manager, as he suggested he changed the way he handled players in the latter part of his career in a bid to drain the best out of them on the pitch.

"The human beings I've dealt with are far more fragile than the human beings of 30 years ago and I say that in a good sense because they're coming from better conditions," he added.

"I couldn't lose my temper the way I did back then with people nowadays. Also, which has become very dominant in the English game, is the culture of players from different countries.

"At United I think there are people from 20 different nationalities and that's a challenge because people from different cultures have to be addressed.

"You have to make sure that they are comfortable in their environment because it's a results industry and you need to get the best out of them."

I've said it before that the backroom staff was an integral part of United's success. To dismantle it is unthinkable. Moyes did just that. It is the entire 'ecosystem' if you like built over the years that made United what it is during Fergie's reign.

Should have bought Ozil and sell Rooney before the transfer window closed. Let Arsenal or Chelsea have Rooney.

Kagawa reiterates United frustration

Shinji Kagawa has again used the international break to express disappointment at his lack of first-team football at Manchester United this season, claiming his confinement to the substitutes’ bench is now affecting his performances for Japan....................................

Using the media to put pressure on the manager is not going to help his cause. Expect Kagawa to be shipped out in January or next summer.

Stop whining and improve your work rate on the field. Learn to adapt or you're off when the next transfer window opens.

Kagawa's forte is playing behind the main striker and he's great at interplay (quick one-twos) around the penalty box which can open up teams even if they defend deep.
Unfortunately that is the only position he excels in and unlike Juan Mata, he seems unable or unwilling to adapt his game to what his manager needs/wants.
He would be great in the second striker role, playing behind the main striker Rooney who is another great player at interplay. Valencia and Welbeck are also good at this, but RVP (too classy ), Nani (too selfish ) and Young (too clueless :() are not.
