Wow! So quick to point the finger at SDP, mind you, SDP is not the only opposition expressing interest and collected the nomination form.

The difference it made is to initiate a dialogue with WP, you don't see everyone else doing this, not SDA, RP and even WP!

Instead of blaming SDP, they should be thanked for making the by-election possible, at least from the Ponggol's residents. Do you seriously think that Lee Hsien Loong will call for a speedy by-election if only Worker Party there to compete? In fact, it intend to safeguard its winning by having 2 independant candidates " with politics in their blood" to standby in case it is only PAP and WP. Even with 50-50, WP will still lose if PAP position these 2 bozos to be solely against the government. Seriously, the extra-marital affair will only tarnish around 5% of the votes.

Least that WP should do is a dialogue with other oppositions instead of holding on to their arogance stance. the others will back out from the fight if WP shows willingness for future collaborations.

Everybody knows what that cooperation proposal is all about, i.e. to get SDP a seat in parliament which they otherwise will not get. The save face "vice versa" totally erases the argument which party is better in what. Don't take the electorate for fools. It is guaranteed you will not get their votes. Next time, if you need another party to help you out, do it properly in a nice way.

It is possible for this round of elections to be about PalmerGate. It is possible for this round of elections to be about raising questions about the AIM saga. And WP is the best party to raise these questions.

Palmer's gate? the most it is a 5% dent on PAP, potential consequency of adultary is overstated, especially when the adultary issue is propoerly taken care of.

Aim Saga? It will bring more voters towards PAP, people will worry about chaos happens to their SMC when WP takes over.

You can consider CSJ and SDP siow if they are the only opposition party going against WP, you can also write off Desmond Lim as he may be taking revenge on WP for causing his humiliation in the last election. But when Keneth Jeyaratnam also join in the fight, there is definitely something is going on here.

Bare in mind that SDP intends to open a conversation with WP, RP and SDA do not even bother with that at all. I am sure that SDP will back down if the conversation takes place.

All you need to do is to take a step back and think. If we all know that none of the opposition will gain if there is a multiple corner fight, won't the oppositions know as well? Hey! I was cursing and swearing at SDP, RP and SDA the last week, there is no reason whey they are all so dumb, unless they are not.

If SDP is the lone opposition doing this, I will call them crazy. the fact is that we are seeing at least 3 opposition parties going against WP: SDP, SDA and RP. They cannot have turned into idiot all the sudden. I mean the most crazy comment is from Desmond (Lim?) of SDA, " even if I can gain 1% support, I will be happy." I seriously doubt that he will keep his deposit this round neither. Is he that rich to throw his money away unless there is something else driving him to do so?

I think WP still thinks that they are invincible and they will win this by-election. They will say, "bring it on!" And if the other oppositions failed to submit their candidates, WP's attitude towards fellow oppositions will even be worse in the next election.
