I am glad you consider my response made a lot of sense.
What you wrote made no sense, thats why you cant strand by it and run away.
My response is very clear. If you cannot understand the posts as written here, you cannot understand any of the discussion here. Why are you still here trolling?
Don't think it'll be all over the news. If it does, don't think he'll be looking bad. Singaporeans no matter how dumb you think they are know that being "consultative" doesn't mean people can start issuing dares to people. This is a secret society game where the ah beng would say "eh lu bo chee ah"? You think our politics will devolve to that stage?
This is a perfectly reasonable request. Presdent Ma of Taiwan does homestay in the countryside all the time.
And what do you mean by "our politics will devolve to that stage"? You might as well add on the other pap slogans "I just upgraded, let's be more productive and integrate with foreigners".
Btw, it will be great if someone manages to convince pinky to do 10 burpees and 20 jumping jacks the moment he reaches the office every morning and it's aired on the 9.30 news every night. The pap argument would of course be that he would be more productive spending his time and energy on other things, but I would beg to differ.

I am referring to the request, not the homestay. Homestay isn't a bad idea. But it shouldn't even be a request. It should be an initiative of the national leader himself.
If the leader doesn't do that (whether by invite or initiative), he's missing something out and that's too bad. But if a person challenges a national leader to stay with him or be branded a coward, I think the person should feel sad for himself, not the leader.
If 1,000 people challenge the leader to do something, do you think the leader is reduced to no more than a monkey doing monkey tricks at a minority's "request"? Do you want to live under a country or a leader like that?
We can all wait long long for him to come out with an initiative like that himself.
And of course it will depend on what the request is, trying to forge some empathy with the ordinary chap in a typical home and travelling by public transport is not considered "monkey tricks" in my book. Don't think the word "coward" was mentioned either.
You are out of touch. There are 193 countries in the world and you and GMS can only state Ma as the only example who has done homestay. Ma would not have accepted Chen Shui Bian's offer if he were to offer him to stay in his house. No Taiwanese would say anything about Ma but some would lambast Chen instead. If Romney decides to invite Obama to stay at his place, Obama wouldn't accept it either.
Raymond Lim and Lui Tuck Yew took public transport and did stand on the bus. Did public transport improve?
I didn't say the word "coward" was mentioned. But you can read the messages again. Definitely some undertones were hinted along those lines.
It's the same as the SDP's forum where all opposition parties have declined their offer. It's a good thing because SDP can now act the hero it wants to be.
Since you claim that I am out of touch, I will claim that your argument is getting absurd.
I only follow politics in 2 countries - Singapore and Taiwan. That's why I used Ma as an example, nothing to do with GMS.
Ma accepting Ah Bian's offer? Whatever for? In the first place, Ah Bian is in jail. Secondly, Ah Bian would never offer, at least his wife certainly wouldn't. The same context would be if Wooden (predecessor) or LTK (opponent) offered to let LHL stay in his home. Whatever for? I don't think GMS is even offering his own home.
No, public transport didn't improve, but surely you don't think the expectation is that LHL would be able to improve public housing and transport after the stay. I for one don't even expect that he would be more empathetic, did you read my example about him doing burpees and jumping jacks? Anything to make him sweat, a little bit more inconvenience or discomfort will be fine.
You did not say the word "coward" was mentioned. Did you not say the following:
"But if a person challenges a national leader to stay with him or be branded a coward, I think the person should feel sad for himself, not the leader."
I know you dislike GMS, but look at this initiative/exercise for what it can bring, at the very least some comic relief or some discomfort for pinky.

Did he do honestly in response to critics?
What came out of these homestead other than being a publicity stunt to fool the stupid?
Sumtimes his father might come over to spend a night
An immature letter sounding like a complaining spoilt brat - how to be taken seriously? Tone down emotions, focus on issues.... not "I" "I" "I" as written with an inflated ego all over the letter
