Seems the days are gone, when our parents used to spread them on our bread, or stir them into a pLain bowL of porridge..younger parents just dont buy these stuffs anymore, do they ?..:cool:

Have lah. I gave my little one borvil when he start solid food. But he don't eat as he grow older.

My kid (primary school) stil takes Marmite with rice porridge. We stopped Bovril ever since the Mad Cow scare.

er... my kid still taking cod liver oil but orange favour type, not the original favour type when i was a kid. i hated it when i was fed of it by my mom.

i dont think angmo pai had anything to do with it. in the old days, there plenty of borvil adverts so even a teochew ah ma feed her grandchildren with it in those days.

pls lah, borvil dont cost much even in those days. one bottle of borvil can last one month.

Thank you Fishypie for starting this thread as I had been to embarrass to talk about Marmite thinking I'm the only odd one out. I always have Marmite in my refrigerator for my toasts and drinks and even cooking soup. Whenever I travel to Sri Lanka I will buy boxes of granules Marmite for instant hot drinks and I bring this to Jakarta with me too, here's my Marmite in Jakarta

if you find taking marmite to be 'ang mo', it is likely you are a recent first/second generation chinese immigrant who has not assimilated well into singapore.
