Ash Mr Loi and Mr Loi's son.
the original ya kun family used to operate in a shop at tanjong pagar rd near maxwell. closed down quite sometime ago. went there a few time for their coffee in the morning. although make by a old man, but no old school taste leh.
Ah Kun had his 1st staLL in TeLok Ayer Basin back in the mid 80's.Their coffee was so so onLy, but what
they did to their bread was to penkang them on top of charcoaLs with nettings above, Like bbQ.
Customers Loved it.You needed to wait for Like at Least 45mins to get your servings.
Never seen much of Ah Kun himseLf then.It was his sis & wife who run the staLL.
thankyou for the infor bro .
Basic key ingredients for kaya are eggs, coconut milk, sugar and pandan leaves. Theres nothing special about ah kun kaya, to me its too sweet.... pandan leaves brings out the flavour...
self made lah, if not how a coffee/tea stall can franchise? You need 1 招牌菜 to be different from the rest...I thought his kaya is shop bought
