Crime rates over the years has also dropped. The PAP has done a excellent job in providing everyone with a safe and peaceful Singapore. Dont take the safety for granted. You can walk safely on roads at nite and unlike those supposed developed cities like London or New York...there is a low probability that you will be mugged.

With constant investment in our defence spending, Singapore has proven itself to its neighbours that if they do have indecent desires on our country, they will have to think 3 times before attacking us.

National service has brought discipline to our youth. It has strengthened our tenacity for future challenges.

Nobody is claiming that the MRT is perfect. It has it's problems but so do all transport systems.. HK, Switzerland, Scandinavian countries all have been through major disruptions. Instead of condemning the PAP government constantly and painting a false picture that some other countries are perfect, you should thank your luck stars you are living in Singapore where things are far better managed compared to 98% of the rest of the world.

Can the PAP improve further? Of course it can but what it needs is the support of the people to reach new heights of excellence. Being an armchair critic and keyboard hero isn't going to help matters whatsoever.

In the Swiss case, human error was the likely cause that causes the catastrophic accident.

The frequency and scale of Singapore's MRT train disruption is just too much.
We cannot paint a false picture that Singapore has the best transport system when cracks are showing up all over the place.

In terms of literacy, PAP has done well over the years for people of Singapore. More and more are having at least O levels qualification. The foresight of PAP making English the working language has reaped returns where we can attract foreigners to invest in Singapore more than other countries in SE Asia.

Yes that's right it is LITERACY and not creativity or critical thinking 'cos the latter will lead to educated (not just trained) voters who will question and challenge the status quo. The Brits brought universal literacy to Hong Kong. Does this mean they should rule the Fragrant Harbour forever?

What makes you think another party would have chosen a different language? Why is there a need to attract foreignors to invest in Sinkieland? Don't you have enough local wealth? But those locals lack creativity and daring do? After five decades of independence? Why?

The Singapore currency has also been strong all these years and this has helped to cushion the increasing costs of living, as compared to Malaysia where the ringgit has weakened to a considerable extent bringing more hardship to its people.

A strong currency attained through market manipulation has not helped to slow inflation. The long term rate of inflation is about the same as HK whose currency is pegged to USD. On the contrary it has led to asset price inflation as hot money flows in.
