LOL. After reflecting it is true that the France team comprises of players who migrated and descended from the African continent. Since they are playing on a partially home ground advantge this European-African country might perhaps triumph in this World Cup. Viva La France.

France will win because it is the only African country to have won a World Cup before.

To all football fans bro,
13 days from now the 2010 world cup we have been waiting for will begin,as a football fan the world cup and euro championship has always been my must watch and punt.
i love to relive the the moments of 1982 world cup when most matches will shown free live on tv in the wee hours in the morning which i would be very restless on the night when england and brazil would be playing the memories of bryan robson two goals in their 3-1 win against france, the rocket goal by eder in brazil 2-1 win over russia,3-1 over argentina and the most classic of world cup games their 3-2 loss to italy in the second round..zico,socrates,falcao,junior,eder and oscar playing the beautiful game is a joy to watch and rossi and that bully claudia gentile was on my hate list at that time.

to all football bros like baimi, ramseth, yinyang, wayne and the rest lets all knock our head together by giving our view, opinion, analysis, pre, post match comment and whatever last minute important information we had right up to match time by posting it for all to see,
say for example the opening match on 11june south africa vs mexico, lets say in the final count that 7 out of 10 bros say mexico will win than we will punt mexico to win.

rememember everybit of information is important,a classic example was the 1998 world cup in france, many include me was confident that brazil will win the cup and i had a good bet on them..i was in KL at that time about an hour before the match started,i received a call from spore to be very carefull that something fishy is going on, there was a huge plunge in the betting on france to win and bookies in the know start to makan bets for brazil.
it was only after france won 3-0 that we realize brazil star player ronaldo suffered a food poisoning hours be the match and may not be playing, anyway he was force to play and that cause brazil the cup because in truth they are actually playing with 10man.
somehow somewhere these punters who got hold of these important info is laughing all the way to the bank.
so let us work as a team during this world cup and for those who want to post rubbish please proceed to the rubbish heap provide by ah sam.
lets show asianbookies, fuckwarezone and all others we are the best..

1982 was the best World Cup ever. On hindsight, the strategy of Enzo Bearzot was simply marvellous, having learnt his lesson in World Cup 1978, when his Italy went all out to win all first three games in the first round only to crumble to Holland in the de facto semi-final. Whereas Holland's first round performance was so-so (perhaps learning from their 1974 lesson), even losing to Scotland, but still reached the Grand Final.

In 1982, Brazil and England were the ones going all out to win all first three group games only to falter in the later round. It's clear that Enzo Bearzot and Italy have studied all that Brazil could do, however the Brazilians were taken by surprise believing it was a mediocre Italy. Naviety was the word most commentators used to describe the Brazil defeat.

Simply put, the Brazil 1982 was still not at the level of Brazil 1970 when they didn't have to care less and simply bulldozed through to the Cup.

to all football bros like baimi, ramseth, yinyang, wayne and the rest lets all knock our head together by giving our view, opinion, analysis, pre, post match comment and whatever last minute important information we had right up to match time by posting it for all to see, say for example the opening match on 11june south africa vs mexico, lets say in the final count that 7 out of 10 bros say mexico will win than we will punt mexico to win.

For the opening game, I'd hazard a guess for a 1:1 draw.

it was only after france won 3-0 that we realize brazil star player ronaldo suffered a food poisoning hours be the match and may not be playing, anyway he was force to play and that cause brazil the cup because in truth they are actually playing with 10man.

This reminds me of 1970 Q-Final when England goalkeeper Gordon Banks (undisputedly the best in the world then) got something like stomachache or diarrhoea, and West Germany happily won 3:2 with Gerd Muller gleeing.

Wayne Rooney (L) of England and Japan's Yuji Nakazawa fight for the ball during their friendly international football match in Graz on May 30, 2010 prior to the FIFA World Cup 2010 hosted by South Africa.

England/Japan – England come back to defeat Japan 2-1
England won their second match in less than a week but had to come from behind to overcome a stubborn Japan side 2-1 at Graz in Austria.

Defender Tulio Tanaka gave his side a shock lead after just seven minutes knocking home a corner but he then went from hero to villain as he turned in Joe Cole’s cross from the right that flew past his own ‘keeper on 72 minutes.

More horror defending followed as Yuji Nakazawa also put the ball into his own goal after a cross from Ashley Cole as England escaped with their pride intact.

Frank Lampard also missed a second half penalty for England while Wayne Rooney was man of the match.

Germany's players applaud after the International friendly football match Hungary vs Germany in the Hungarian capital Budapest on May 29, 2010. The match is Germany's last World Cup warm-up before opening their South African campaign against Australia in Durban on June 13 before facing Serbia and Ghana in Group D.

Germany cruise to 3-0 away victory in Hungary friendly
Germany defeated Hungary in one of the team’s final matches before the World Cup squad is pared down to 23. The goal tally could have been higher, and a number of players showed themselves well.
Germany won a comfortable 3-0 victory against Hungary as Brazilian-born Cacau scored his third goal in two games for his adopted country.

Lukas Podolski and Mario Gomez were also goalscorers in the penultimate friendly match for Germany before the World Cup.

With Germany captain Michael Ballack ruled out of next month's World Cup through injury and substitute Philipp Lahm rested by coach Joachim Loew, Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose took the captaincy in Budapest.

Sami Khedira took over Ballack' slot in the German midfield and put in an impressive performance before being taken off with a minor muscle strain in the second half.

Had it not been for a string of saves during the first half by Hungary and 1860 Munich keeper Gabor Kiraly, Germany's goal tally would have been much higher.

Penalty breakthrough

After just five minutes, Germany won a penalty as Per Mertesacker was judged to have been fouled in the area during a bout of pre-free kick jostling . Podolski fired his shot into the top right hand corner to make it 1-0.

The score stayed that way going into the break, and early in the second half Loew brought on Stuttgart striker Cacau for midfielder Mesut Oezil, who had put several shots on frame in the first half and had been unlucky not to score.

Mario Gomez, also a substitute, added another goal from close range on 69 minutes, after being set up by Marko Marin. In a solo effort on 72 minutes, Cacau ran onto a headed Mertesacker clearance that had taken a fortunate bounce through midfield and freed the striker for a run toward the Hungarian goal. He beat Kiraly and tapped home to seal a convincing display from Germany.

Germany fly to South Africa on June 7 after their final warm-up game against Bosnia-Herzegovina next Thursday in Frankfurt, and start their World Cup campaign in Group D against Australia on June 13.

Football: Own-goals deny Japan historic England win

GRAZ, Austria: Two own-goals saved England from embarrassment in their final World Cup warm match as they came from behind to beat Japan 2-1 here on Sunday.

But the unconvincing victory threw up as many questions as answers for manager Fabio Capello just 48 hours before he must cut his squad for South Africa from 30 to 23.

The unfortunate Yuji Nakazawa and Marcus 'Tulio' Tanaka, who put his side ahead after six minutes, both turned the ball into their own net in the second half - just when it looked as though Japan were heading for the first victory over England in their history.

But although Capello can be pleased with the result there is no hiding the fact that his experimental side under-performed for large sections of the match and needed five second-half substitutions to bring them to life.

At times, England were outplayed by a Japan side who went into the friendly fixture low on confidence following three defeats in four games and with manager Takeshi Okada said to be under intense pressure.

England's performance in the first half in particular was miserable as Capello's side were slovenly in attitude, sloppy in possession and short on ideas.

That was in part down to an experimental 4-2-4 formation that featured Aaron Lennon on the left wing and Theo Walcott on the right, a tactic which left Frank Lampard and the one-paced Tom Huddlestone fighting a losing battle in midfield where Japan enjoyed plenty of possession.

Okada's side were ahead after only six minutes when Glen Johnson lost his man from a Yasuhito Endo corner and Tulio swept home. The Japanese visibly grew in confidence after that, shaking off memories of recent defeats, including a 2-0 home reverse against South Korea earlier in the week, to dominate possession in areas that England would normally expect to call their own.

The closest Capello's side came to an equaliser was when Rooney cleverly found Lennon inside the area, only for the Tottenham winger's shot to be well saved by Eiji Kawashima.

But in truth Japan, were comfortable for most of the opening 45 minutes, even threatening a second when Rio Ferdinand slipped and Shinji Okazaki fired over the bar when well placed to score.

It was no surprise when Capello made five changes at half-time, bringing on Joe Cole, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Jamie Carragher, Joe Hart and Steven Gerrard, with the disappointing Darren Bent, Walcott, David James and Huddlestone going off.

The changes, with Cole playing behind Rooney in a 4-5-1 formation, reaped almost immediate dividends when Lampard earned England a penalty as Honda foolishly handled the Englishman's free-kick.

But Lampard's 55th minute effort from the spot was superbly saved by Kawashima, sparking real celebration in the Japan side and leaving Capello with yet another headache.

Lampard has enjoyed an outstanding season for Chelsea, scoring 27 goals in all competitions, but he has now missed two penalties in a row, having also shot wide in the FA Cup Final.

Japan showed tenacity and energy in all positions, with substitute Daiki Iwamasa coming close to doubling their lead with an excellent left-foot shot that was well saved by Hart after 66 minutes.

Only Rooney kept England going but Kawashima enjoyed an excellent day, saving one long-range effort comfortably from the Manchester United man and then acrobatically tipping another curling effort over the bar.

However, just when it seemed the Japanese were set to celebrate a landmark victory they finally cracked, Joe Cole's near-post cross headed into his own net after 71 minutes by the unfortunate Tanaka.

And when Joe Cole fed Ashley Cole down the left 10 minutes laterm the Chelsea left-back's cross was turned into his own net by a sliding Nakazawa to seal Japan's fate.

Even then there was time for Hart to save well from Makoto Hasebe and for Ujki Abe to head against the crossbar. - AFP/fa

France's soccer players celebrate after William Gallas, center (5), scored a goal against Tunisia during a pre-World Cup friendly match at November 7 Stadium in Rades, on the outskirts of Tunis, Sunday, May 30, 2010, in preparation for the 2010 World Cup taking place in South Africa.

France-Tunisia World Cup warm-up ends in 1-1 draw

REUTERS - France needed a second-half goal by William Gallas to salvage a 1-1 draw in Tunisia in their penultimate World Cup warm-up on Sunday.

Centre back Gallas, who had been a doubful starter for the World Cup because of a sore calf muscle, reassured coach Raymond Domenech by heading home a Yoann Gourcuff free kick on 63 minutes to save the former world and European champions from defeat.

Tunisia fought bravely, opening the scoring on five minutes through forward Issam Jemaa, but France, still needing time to adapt to the new, 4-3-3 system they had introduced in a 2-1 win over Costa Rica on Wednesday, improved gradually.

France will now fly to the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion to play China there on Friday in their final warm-up for the June 11-July 11 finals in South Africa, where they will face the hosts, Mexico and Uruguay in Group A.
