Kindly share your thought on potential leader(s) after LKY passed away.
Let me start with: -
1) LTK
2) TJS
or could be the outsider presently not in picture yet?
3) GMS, the one and only.
Are you kidding!!!
We need institutions not an individual to lead this country forward. Institutions like independent judiciary, political-neutral police, military and independent election commission. The Press has to be truly free and MPs must represent the people so proportional representation is needed.
Democracy is messy but it is the closest to representing the voice of the people. Bad decisions will come out of such a system but it is a decision made by the majority. So, it is plain okay.
PAP will still be in power for at least 15 more years, so premature to speculate on a non-PAP prime minister right now.
Though quite true, country to move forward needs a good leader.
In history, under democratic process, there were many good leaders appeared.
A good leader can lead, others just follow procedures and faded away.

LKY has failed SG and Singaporeans by butchering SG's political landscape and eliminating all worthy political leaders from the 1970s to 2000. Now there is a huge vacuum in the political arena.
if LHL is the best political leader SG has, we are in deep trouble...that's the failed legacy of LKY
Peoples' power can change the government like in Pinoy land.
A female PM... to follow Australia and Thailand's example.
Look at what happened in the Philippines they had a movie star as Prez aka the Arab, then Aroyo. Both have faced legal problems.
Same thing will probably happen in Spore because we don't have strong instituitions in Spore
Peoples' power can change the government like in Pinoy land.
Institutions ensure that good leaders come forward. If you seek only an individual, you are playing with chance. A good leader could turn out to be a dictator after being in power for a while. Then he changes the system to keep him there. You are experiencing it now. And yet you still grasp for a person instead of institutions?
