Before any laymen start believing in the nonchalant nonsense our esteemed Tonychat has put up. Let's start to debunk some of the erroneous views. B12 from plant sources are much lower than the RDA(Recommended Daily Allowances) for humans. Real published papers reviewed by professionals + US NIH FACTS as proof:

RDA of B12
http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminB12.asp

B12 amounts from fermented PLANT food
http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/119470042/abstract?CRETRY=1&SRETRY=0

B12 amounts from Beef
http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/119557536/abstract

The ability to recycle B12 does not mean there is a 100% efficiency. There will be daily losses involved. And together with iron deficiency its going to deplete the amount stored even further. This is why vegans are usually recommended to take B complex. Absence of symptoms does not signify that the body isn't losing in B12. This deficiency takes a long time to surface that is why preventive action is still good. You won't want to develop health problems in view of saving animals. Again vegans like to criticize physicians being lacking in the area of preventive medication but apparently we see that its the same for vegans, well at least for Professor Tonychat.

The thing about scientists being incorrect about B12 from plants, that's entirely conceived out of Professor Tonychat's deranged mind. Because he would apparently have to eat soil inorder to get those B12 since normal healthy people WASH their vegetables thoroughly.

You must be a doctor who earns money due to the people falling sick by meat eating.

YOu have not even mentioned how B12 is being made and you start your " follow any theory" claimed as though you know so much about B12.

Why flesh contained B12 and why plants has lower amount and how to get enough of B12.

WHy eat food that has high amount of B12 that package with the potential of cancer and heart disease , and including diminishing the spiritual kindness and compassion of human.

That is why i say those meat -eaters are ignorant and plus doctors who eat meat like to use this ( be Careful of insufficient B12 shit) to justify their blood-thirsty right to eat meat.

Face the fact, meat eating reduce health and cause problems for the environment.

Doctor can't earn my money as i seldom pay them a visit. I do understand how sore you feel but i thought doctor's job is to promote health or maybe you case is promote sickness so as to pocket more money? Coffin seller to promote death?

What a sinkie......!!!!

Merely corrected the wrong perspectives introduced about Tempeh's B12 content being sufficient and the nonsense about B12 from soil. There was no recommendation to eat meat mentioned anywhere in my post. The message was to share information on the RDA,the various sources and amounts of B12 in various foods. And the importance of taking B complex to prevent deficiencies for vegans. Certainly not to slam vegans in anyway, just creating awareness.

Humans are not like ruminants that have a specialized fermentation compartment in their gut. We do have intestinal flora but the B12 is largely produced way down the colon(making absorption a problem) and in amounts that definitely cannot be compared to those in ruminants. Also add to these facts is the way modern humans eat. We consume pasteurized, cleaned foods and antibiotics. All these factors reduce the intestinal flora we have, further lowering the amount of B12 produced. Although some bacterium in the soil produce B12, certain soil dwelling bacterium also cause food poisoning. Like Listeria for example is one of the pathogens you can consume if you don't wash your salad vegetables well. Unless one cleans his/her veges with a microscope, otherwise how would one segregate pathogens from non pathogens? Moreover humans are unlike dogs who recycle nutrients by consuming their own fecal excretion.

so what are you trying to imply, eat meat to get B12? or what?

YOu sound like a robot that read theory but dunno how to use it properly.

B12 is not really an issue for vegans. If they are so worried then eat food fortified with B12. Personally, i dun believe in supplement, but for B12, vegan might take.

Anyway, for pple who wants to know B12. Kampong pple who play with m&d and sand daily or walk around it daily will have more B12 in their body than people who stay in city. so for city pple, no m&d around so just take food with B12.

Those worthless meat eaters who like to b12 here and there, they should check up those cancer and heart disease related to meat, that is the number one killer and those meat eaters deserve what they eat,

same as those sinkies deserve what they vote.
