Teens held for armed robbery
<!-- by line --> <!-- end by line --> FOUR youths have been arrested for suspected involvement in two robbery cases in the Serangoon and Ang Mo Kio estates. The suspects, aged between 17 and 18 years, are believed to have robbed a woman and a man on two separate occasions on Dec 16 and 20. In the first robbery, which took place at Serangoon Ave 3, a 31-year-old female was robbed of $300 worth of cash and belongings by three youths. She was also assaulted after she put up a struggle. A second victim was robbed of cash and belongings amounting to $50 at Ang Mo Kio Ave 1. The 58-year-old man was attacked by three youths, one of whom was armed with a knife. After extensive ground enquiries, officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of one of the suspects, who was arrested on Dec 28. The identities of the two other suspects were subsequently established, and they were arrested on the same day. It was later found that one of the three arrested was involved only in the first robbery, and that a fourth suspect had a part in the second one. He was eventually arrested as well. All four suspects will be charged in Court on Wednesday for Armed Robbery.
