Over 220 case files hosted on the State Courts’ electronic management system were accessed without authorisation via “a loophole” in the system, said the courts on Wednesday (28 November).
In a press release, the courts said they were first alerted on 1 November about a possible vulnerability in its Integrated Criminal Case Filing and Management System (ICMS). The ICMS is an electronic case management system used by the State Courts for the conduct of criminal proceedings.
Following investigations, 223 e-case files were found to have been accessed without authorisation via a loophole in the system, allowing them to view court documents in other e-case files, the courts added.
Responding to queries from Yahoo News Singapore, the State Courts said that “up to nine may have obtained unauthorised access to court documents in the ICMS”.

The concrete flooring behind several Housing Board blocks in Woodlands was found covered in algae shortly after it had been repaved, prompting residents to alert the town council.

A photo shared on forum discussion thread Reddit on Sunday (Nov 25) shows dark green patches next to the void deck of several blocks in Woodlands Street 81.
The Reddit user said that it has been "months" since the algae appeared.
It is not clear when the photo was taken.
Several other Reddit users said that the algae growth could be a potential fall hazard especially for the elderly folk living in the area, who could slip and end up injuring themselves.

Frustrations surge against AVA as Tampines street cats continue to be brutally mauled by wild dogs

The streets of Tampines are no longer safe for its resident community cats — a pack of around 11 wild dogs has been roaming around the district for months now, hunting down and mauling felines for sport.

The caretakers of the neighborhood felines are no doubt heartbroken over the brutal deaths of over 10 cats and struggling to prevent the dogs from killing again. Even for non-cat lovers, the sight of mangled, bloody animal cadavers would be a distressing sight in residential estates.

SINGAPORE - History repeated itself when the annual Miss Universe Singapore national costume was unveiled on Thursday (Nov 29).
As was the case for the last five years, the national costume, inspired by the high-profile summit in Singapore between United States President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un earlier this year, received poor reviews from the public.
The dress, designed by 48-year-old Moe Kasim, centres on a flowy electric blue skirt that fans out with a digital print of a handshake - one arm features the North Korean flag and the other, the American flag - over the Singapore skyline.
