Recession or not, people will continue to get sick, and they want treatment. Thus those who are trained in the various health sciences are more likely to stay in their jobs.
Insurance companies also want to keep those who are insured properly, so that they won't go down under, and thus insurance for health care coverage would probably be safe for the moment.
