Climbing a hill is much easier than taking SMRT nowadays. BREAK, BREAK AND MORE BREAKS and they spend millions on COI for more headaches to come.

Whenever there's a train service serving a route. They would usually terminate the bus services to maximise profits.

With this kind of short sightedness many are now affected when there is a breakdown:(

Should let private with min 10 bus can apply for the permit to operate bus for public compete with SMRT and TIBS
Some regulation
1. Min 10 bus
2. Bus cannot be more than 10 year old
3. Must operate min 16 hr daily.

Why never open out the bus license? Taxi already open so do the bus.!!!!!!!!!!!!

SINGAPORE: Commuters travelling on the North East Line continue to experience delays.

SBS Transit, the operator of the North East Line, said this is due to a power fault.

It said there is now a delay of 2 minutes for trains heading towards HarbourFront.

Previously, the operator warned of additional travelling times of about 20 minutes in both directions.

Earlier in the day, Channel NewsAsia spoke to some commuters.

"The announcement keeps on going on that (train services) are delayed for 10 to 15 minutes. (However), from Hougang to Chinatown, it's already been delayed from 40 minutes to almost an hour," said one commuter.

"A lot of people were just waiting to go into the train. And there were a lot of people in the train (as well), but the train did not move," said another.
