More than 100 nabbed in anti-loansharking blitz

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested 105 people for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
The suspects comprise 74 men and 31 women aged between 17 and 68. They were rounded up in a 37-hour operation which ended on Tuesday.
Police conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations such as Changi, Bedok, Ang Mo Kio, Yishun, and Jurong.
The suspects are believed to be involved in activities such as carrying out harassment at debtors' units as well as conducting ATM transfers.
Three of them are believed to have also provided false contact information when obtaining loans from loansharks.
