A case of too little too late perhaps. Another one to leave.....

Barcelona, Bayern Munich alerted as Morrison drops Man Utd contract talks

Manchester United have seen new contract talks with Ravel Morrison collapse.

The Sun says the controversial ace, 18, who last season pleaded guilty in court to a charge of witness intimidation, is out of contract at the end of the season.

He is now ready to move on despite his unquestionable talent.

Barcelona, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich have all been linked with Morrison, regarded as the best talent to come through United's youth system since Paul Scholes

Whichever players Man Utd manage to get, retain or coax out of retirement, there is only one way for them to play and that is a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 formation.

Here are the recommended players for each position. If they can get better players, great, but play with these players in these positions in this formation.

Right FB: Jones, Smalling, Rafael
Left FB: Evra, Fabio, Rafael
Central Defence: Vidic, Ferdinand, Smalling, Evans, Jones
Central Midfield: Cleverly, Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs, Anderson, Scholes, Jones
Attacking Midfield: Rooney, Giggs, Young
Winger: Nani, Valencia, Young, Park, Giggs, Welbeck
Striker: Hernandez, Berbatov, Rooney, Welbeck, Owen

He used to be quite good for Villa and England in the second striker/attacking midfielder role.
I think Carrick is better in central midfield where he can get the ball from the defenders and pass it around.
He is almost always slow motion when running into the box, except for the goal he scored recently where he ran from the middle of the park to score.

objectively, Carrick sucks. He shld be shipped out.

when he first came on board, I was impressed by him having the eye to make killer passes. Over time, dunno for what reason, he became poor.

United have achieved limited success with the 4-5-1 formation when Rooney was played as the sole striker. There was a period when we used Berba as the lone striker and ended up with eggs on our face. The only other players that could possibly fit and excel in this position are Hernandez and Welbeck but the choice of players very much depends on the opposition and their back 4 formation.

Playing 4-3-3 would mean having less cover at the back. Again United have not quite excelled in this attacking mode. The formation that theplayers are really good at will 4-4-2. Whenever we're chasing the game, Fergie will revert to this formation.

The way forward for the RED Devils would be a a modified 4-4-2 with 1 defensive midfielder as shield just above the back 4. With this strategy, it makes it harder to concede goals.

darron gibson the scholes wanna-be is on way to Everton...

bye bye....you will be remembered for :

a) trying to shoot from long distance with hit ratio better than my grandma shooting hoops.

b) winning goal against Hull in one of the final match 2 season ago.

c) basically one of the flop at Man U.

Move of (not sweet) potato 50kms away to Beatles place, end his misery at OT. Hopefully, Moyes fellow finds some use, to allow him to peddle his wares

My suggested formation is 4-3-3 when attacking, with the wingers high up the pitch and 4-5-1 when defending, with the wingers tracking the opposing fullback. A little like Arsenal, hehehe. :o

Rooney is better as the AMC, that's why I prefer Hernandez and Welbeck, even Berbatov as the sole striker. This is the formation they started off against Man City in the FA cup, worked in the first half, but in the second half, one winger was off and the team dropped back to defend deep. Berbatov when he played for Spurs and Leverkusen was frequently touted as giving a "masterclass" in the lone striker role, because he can hold up the ball and get others involved with his flicks and passes.

What the team must have is that little triangle in midfield, 2 CM with 1 AMC, so that the midfield is not over-run.

He did score a cracker against Bayern Munich in the champions league a few seasons ago. :o

He was about to be sold to Sunderland in the summer, but according to Fergie, Sunderland withdrew at the last minute. He was in the starting XI briefly when they had a midfield crisis, but the boxing day outing with Rooney and Evans was probably the final straw.

I dun know what has gone wrong with Berba. The player almost instantaneously soured when he arrived at OT. For his sake I hope Leverkusen is serious about handing him a lifeline and spare most if not all OT faithfuls the misery of seeing him in our colors for another season. Only time will tell if the Man Utd system of play failed him or he farked us big time. He has great technique, better than most of his colleagues but his 'lazy' style just isn't sitting well with the fans.

sad to see Berbatov leave.

seems lazy on pitch but any player who scored a hat trick against liverpool deserves a place in OT.
