Man jailed for helping dispose of stolen goods worth $1.4 million

A contractor was jailed for eight months on Friday for helping to dispose of $1.4 million worth of electronic products.
Lee Seng Hua, 36, pleaded guilty to helping to dispose of 1,930 iPads, 1,464 iPhones and 1,000 pieces of casings, cables and accessories at a warehouse on Sept 18, 2011.
He also admitted to failing to comply with the directions of an airport seasonal pass issued to him by entering the protected place for purposes other than for official duties.
A district court heard that one Ong Chip Siong, 30, contacted Lee in early September to get his friend to help him move a shipment of goods at Changi Airfreight Centre. Ong, who is on the run, promised to give him a sum of money, and Lee agreed.
