A very timely reminder for residents in SG and MY.

Wasn't it just a month back when a suspected drug dealer was shot 4x in a carpark near Jusco Tebrau?

No wonder the guards always walk around the car park, the guards here quite on the balls cos the big boss of the place stay next door to me!

My friend sister rent a unit in Ulu Tiram for only rm600, think of the price one can tell how safe is that place.
Place not to buy is .... Taman Palangi , Johor jaya, anywhere near CIQ...

Bro, i went st mary, 6 caps square, icon city last year, will definitely revisit st mary just to kaypo. Will go to banyan tree too, my local friend who is a guru will share some knowledge. I will ask him to arrange some of these you mentioned. Ara green was in bbb mode, so definitely want to see why.

No worries, we will be accumulating ammo and bullets first, recruit an army of tenants and build up our base in the southern city, go there on a regular recee trip, a couple of years later, we will sweep up all! We will launch a swift takeover of the west Malaya kingom.

Im hoping to enter when the city market weakens, i predict a faster expansion of the southern city, the population number will increase and our army will only get stronger with foreign support in technology and funds. Then we will be ready.

Hi I am relatively new here, am keen on condo rather than Landed as my family members are used to high-rise living and are uncomfortable to be on landed, though landed seemed cheaper in JB than high-rise. This anomaly is possibly due to construction cost as I presume land is reasonably cheaper in JB.

I am keen on Paragon Residence, though the prices are steeper than some existing development in the area.....with the revival on the seafront development in the vicinity, where the incomplete highway stops......this development overlooks to be at the right place at the right time.....any input?

There will be more blood but hopefully will not seep across the Causeway.

- No. 3 is on the way in the next 5 years.
- Grassroots screaming for help with rise in casino-related family problems. That's why new measures need to come in
- Even Malaysians are not spared; free buses (stopped in Singapore) are still plying the JB, Malacca areas to ferry gamblers to MBS/RWS.

But it is easy money that SIN Government would not want to forgo.

Are they really building another casino in the next 5 years? What excuse this time - create jobs for Singaporeans? The 60 percent really should wake up before too late.

The problem is that it is too easily accessible. Where else but Singapore does a casino sit in the financial centre. Malaysia's up in the hills, America has theirs in a desert while China/Hong Kong's is offshore (Macau).

Unique but hopefully not a deadly curse.

Yeah the accessibility is the problem, so far already read a few crime cases in the newspaper - all accidental gamblers who started going casino innocently during lunch, after work, when bored etc.

Sometimes, safety needs to be compromised in the face of rising costs. A unit for only RM 600 when some workers spend SGD 600 to 700 for a room in AMK/Toa Payoh. No horse run.

That's why, many of us failed to realise that some Nusajaya properties in the RM 350K - 400K region are being snapped up by these SPR or Malaysian workers some time back.

With a salary of SGD 2,000, they get RM 5,000. Use RM 1,500 to finance a nice house which they could call home in time to come. And that's still cheaper than paying for rent in Singapore.

Wynn should be next. And Steve was not coy about wanting to be in SG though PH seems to have taken some of his attention.

Licenses for the casinos run for 30 years and the exclusivity is for 10 years. The clock started ticking in January 2007 when the two winners Sands and Genting were announced. When there's none, it is difficult to convert the nay-sayers. But once past the threshold, it gets easier. Strengthening the 'safe-guards', 'legislations' and 'social assistance schemes' are all it takes to persuade which is happening now.

There is no turning back.

LHL announced in 2005 that Singapore is going to develop IRs and allowing the entry of casinos; 5 years later, the RWS opened its doors.

It is 2012 now and Business Times reported that Wynn needs to wait until 2017 to start his operations.

Should we be hearing some announcements soon?

The ones you read about is just the tip of the iceberg. Many are crying behind closed doors, in between the four walls over the gambling woes.

Very true about the accidental gamblers.

I know of night desk traders who continue the finance thrills and spills beyond their working hours in MBS.

Took family to Crystal Pearl Restaurant in Bukit Indah for dinner tonite. I would not recommend it.
Firstly, I made the mistake of going to the toilet to wash my hands before having my Dinner. BIG MISTAKE...... I leave it to your imagination.....
Then came the food, the plate that the rice came on still had dried on remains that looked as if the plate was not washed!!!!! The Fish Head in the curry looked and tasted as if it was in the freezer for a very long time...... The kid's meal had an egg mayonnaise sandwich which my kids normally eat very heartily. This time around after a couple of bites, they refused eat any more!!! When I tasted it, the mayonnaise in the egg sandwich tasted quite different....... Finally, service....... I quess "I owe them a living" even though I thought I was paying for it......
It might have had a good rating sometime back BUT I guess standard has plummeted......

Hi. I took first link. Jb is slow moving but sg very jam.

I went in through first link at around 4.30pm today.

Initially, it was jam-packed on Singapore's side because there was a deluge of bikes and they converted additional lanes for them; leaving only 2 lanes for cars.

But once past Singapore CIQ, it was smooth flowing all the way along the Causeway into MY. No queues at all.

I think it is not bad but I would rather go for G&G landed properties in JB. Condo supplies can be ramped up easily like Singapore leading to oversupply, like in Singapore NE region now. I'm not sure how the condo management is going to chase after some overseas owners (I assume at this price most buyers are not locals) who default on their maintenance and security fees, thus potentially leading to maintenance and security issues.

I think G&G landed would face about the same problem as the condo.
Many high end G&G landed bought by foreigners also.
If most default the security fees, eventually no security also.
