At national level, Keegan over-emphasized on so-called commitment in his team selection that led to England almost being disqualified from World Cup 2002 (campaign abandoned and later rescued by Eriksson).

At club level, Keegan over-emphasized on buying. Newcastle may be a coal mine but not a currency mint. Any idiot backed by a currency mint can buy more players.

Keegan was a good player, a very good player, one of the top during his playing days. But as manager, he simply lost the plot.

Looks like Mike Ashley has really lost it nw. When Keegan was appointed, he was promised that he would be in charge of the players activity, nw when wise comes in as the so called director, Ashley simply just give him more power.
So the leaving of Keegan was not a surprise to me.

read in today's newspaper that maybe like Man City,someone is thinking of buying over Mike Ashley's shares and he is a fan of Keegan.
he said that if he is to buy Newcastle,he only want Keegan as the manager.
look like Keegan maybe coming back,will be looking out for more update.
