SINGAPORE — Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar will make an official visit to Singapore this week at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Tuesday (July 19).
During his visit from Wednesday to Friday, Sultan Ibrahim will call on President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

He will also meet Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
The Sultan of Johor will be accompanied by his wife, Raja Zarith Sofiah, crown prince Tunku Ismail and his wife Che' Puan Besar Khaleeda, Johor's chief minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi and other state officials.
On Wednesday, Sultan Ibrahim will be conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws by the National University of Singapore (NUS) at the Istana in recognition of his contributions to the strengthening of ties between Singapore and Johor, said MFA.

Sultan Ibrahim and his wife will also have a new orchid hybrid, the Dendrobium Ibrahim Zarith, named in their honour, said MFA.
The official itinerary also includes a visit to the site of the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link Woodlands North terminus, Sembawang Air Base, and the Iseas-Yusof Ishak Institute.

The Johor Sultan's visit comes two months after Mr Lee was conferred the highest honour in the state of Johor during a visit in May.
Mr Lee received the First Class, Grand Commander of the Order, Dato’ Sri Paduka Mahkota Johor (SPMJ – Order of the Crown of Johor) from the Sultan of Johor.

The johor sultan is also interested in SAF building a fort near his palace, just like for the Brunei sultan. In the even jiuhukias rise up and try to overthrow the current johor monarchy, our troops would be nearby to either help quell the revolt or to quickly evacuate the johor royal family to Singapore.

I think the NUS wayang degree accorded to the Fat Sultan is to reciprocate the honours that Pinky and wife received recently from the Johor Royals. If I'm not wrong, Fat Sultan and his Crown Prince son didn't graduate from any tertiary institutions. Both enrolled in military academies overseas when young , that's why father and son love wearing military uniforms in public. Fat Sultan that time threatened secession from Matland. In fact his son loved to have drunken parties back then in Singapore clubs. There was a famous story years ago. Son die die wanted to drive his Ferrari when drunk at Orchard accompanied by another car full of his protection Officers. His car was stopped by our Mat TP Cop. Mat cop upon seeing the Royal told his bodyguards that he was not going to arrest him provided he didn't drive the car in a drunken state. The Royal Bodyguards agreed and one of his Bodyguard took over the Ferrari. But Royal Brat threatened the Mat TP Cop and told him to watch out if he saw him in Johor. The incident was swept under the carpet. SPF also kept quiet on it. Then there was an incident in a KL club where this Johor Crown Prince and his guards kidnapped and threatened another young Matland Royal from another state with a gun and bashed him in a hotel room.
