Problem is that almost any practising religious person could legitimately call his religion a way of life, so this label don't say much really.
Buddhism is a religion and mostly followed in the india where people follow the Buddhism religion that is the combination of multiple traditions.
How does it help you by knowing whether it is a religion or not ?

Agreed, don't worry about the labels on the bottle, just establish that the contents in the bottle are genuine.
