Gang-raped, murdered and dumped half-naked: India rocked by the death of a another young woman as father claims blundering police told him she had eloped
Four policemen have been suspended and a fifth transferred over the handling of a suspected new rape and murder case close to the Indian capital Delhi.
The father of the alleged victim, a 21-year-old factory worker, said she was gang-raped and killed before being dumped semi-naked in the street.

But he claimed in an interview with the BBC that police had failed to file a report until the family complained.
The latest attack comes at a time when India is under huge pressure to inflict the harshest punishments on men who attack women in the wake of the gang-rape of a medical student on a bus in Delhi.
The victim, 23, succumbed to her injuries nearly two weeks after the assault.
Her death caused uproar in India with mass demonstrations for women's rights and calls for the six suspects in the case to be hanged.
As Miss Pandey's alleged attackers appeared in court, news emerged of the new murder, which took place in Noida, Sector 63.
The woman's body was found on Saturday after she disappeared on Friday night. Two men have been arrested and a third suspect is reported to have fled.
It was on Friday that the victim left her home at 8.30 am for a 12-hour factory job in Sector 63.
The girl had been working in a garment export company as a seamstress for the last two-and-a-half months.
When the girl did not reach home by 10pm, her family become concerned and told contacted the police where an officer suggested she might have eloped with her boyfriend.

After police did not show any interest in locating the missing woman, the distraught family contacted the factory whose workers told them they saw her leave at 9pm.
The victim's mother alleges it was was only after the neighbours heard of the missing woman and started to protest that the police took an interest.
According to The Times of India policeman arrested Naresh Yadav, who worked in the same garment factory as the woman, and Kailash Yadav.
A third suspect, Uday Yadav, is on the run. The woman had complained to her family about being harassed by Uday.
'The two accused - Naresh and Kailash - had hatched the plan to kill her,' said Senior Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar.
'Naresh brought the girl to a spot where Kailash was already waiting. They smothered the victim to death, and after dumping the body, made off from the scene,' Kumar added.
According to Noida police, the location of the third accused has been traced to a place near Garhmukteshwar. Five police teams have been dispatched to nab him.
'The body was lifted without conducting the post-mortem. Her brother identified her, even then the police didn't conduct the post-mortem,' he said.
Three of the policemen were suspended for ‘passing derogatory comments’ and not filing a report immediately after taking the call and starting an investigation.
A further two have been suspended for 'not patrolling the area where the crime was committed,' a senior official said.
Shocked over the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh and a job to the victim's family.
