A businessman charged with two counts of commercial sex with a minor was given permission to leave the country for business and an event.
Edward Whistler Goh Ngian Meng, 49, applied through his lawyer Wee Pan Lee to make two trips before his next court date in May.
Counsel said his client wished to travel to Shanghai, China, for business for four days from Sunday and to Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia, from May 4 to 6.
Goh is the founder and CEO of Edward Whistler International Group, which specialises in business consulting and management training.
He was among four men hauled to court on Wednesday for paid sex with a girl who is under 18 years old.
To date, 48 men have been prosecuted for paid sex with a girl under 18, which is punishable with a jail term of up to seven years or fine or with both.
Meanwhile, Swiss national Juerg Buergin, 40, former executive director of operations at UBS Investment Bank in Singapore, was finally freed on bail of $15,000 on Friday afternoon.
Like Goh, he also faces two charges of paid sex with the girl.

It will be impossible for those 80 men expect for JB the Swiss national, the Indo national businessman, and any other foreign nationals to start their lives anew in other countries. With the foreigners, they can always return back to their home countries to start their new lives.
As for the local Stinkies? There's no chance for them to start a new life in another country. They cannot qualify for PRs in other countries once they have a criminal record in Singapore or in any countries. Many countries, i.e., Australia and the USA don't even allow people with criminal records to visit their countries as tourists. With today's global criminal record database maintained by Interpol, immigration authorities worldwide already have the names of the 80 men blacklisted as criminals.
As for the Stinkie girl who had sex with those 80 men, she's not a criminal and her identity will never be officially released by the media enforced by law. Thus, she can always migrate to another country and start a new life.
