Well koreans should have a good command of mandarin since they were a vassal state of china for a long period of time.

older generation still write Chinese words very well that put many of us local Chinese in shame although they don't speak Mandarin. you can communicate with them in writing Chinese words but not through conversations.

during WWII japanese occupation sg got korean in japanese army, they will ask to trade for fresh food using army ration like canned food. my grand father will communicate with them in writing, some will even work in my grand father plantation for food after the japanese surrender while waiting for the British troops to be back.

Actually as you know most sinkie ancestors were coolies aka peasants so they should be illiterate and it's not easy learning how to read and write chinese words so i'm just curious how far could they actually go during that period of time to have locals that could read chinese words.

There's one mediakok actress that is korean and she has been acting for many yrs already and now mostly plays grandma roles and she's also on the 9pm drama. Her mandarin is quite good definitely not one bit inferior to any of the other actors/actresses.

1. Saw somewhere here that Koreans invented aircraft, did not read details, but it seems that this civilization is pretty advance, heard Confucius is Korean too.

2. Most sinkies are southern chinese I read somewhere southern chinese not Han more malayish so I bet level of intelligence may not be in the same league as the Hans or Mongols stocks but also read that pure Han is a thing of the past no more liao cos kenna mixed with invading mongols. So ig talking about pure race southern chinese should be more pure that northern cos not so mixed with mongols. Don't know all these shit I read true or not.

This is the place to get all the fresh food stuff. There are 2 wet markets here. The older wet market sells mainly seafood and opens from morning till evening. New wet market opens almost 24 hours.

Hehehe. First attempt to try Cappucino. Regular expresso with frothed milk. Used pasturised milk for today. Results not too bad just that added too much milk.

Number 1 is false.

Number 2 nope southern chinese aren't more malay-like. Although some southern chinese do look more malay like. The fact of the matter is some southern chinese might be mixed with south east asians and many southern chinese look more like thais cos the original thais come from china anyway.

The thing about which type of chinese being more pure is open to discussion and needs a genetic test but it's been established for example that cantonese ppl have quite a large mixture of non han blood in them. Conqueror has also posted in the past that his dialect group the foochownese are the purest han. Not sure about that though. These types of discussions can be found on forums and ppl do talk about the DNA of the various dialect groups but first you need to learn more about DNA and phenotypes to understand some of those discussions. A bit cheem i would say.
