The $1k salaryman can visit the open air garden at GBTB, which is free and open to the public. The supertrees are beautiful at night. There's no charge for it. Same for the botanical gardens. The $1k salaryman pays no income tax, yet gets so much freebies in housing grants, rebates, workfare, and now, medical insurance via MediShield, where raises in premiums are mostly absorbed by the PAP government.
