Singapore's Pink Dot movement spreads to Salt Lake City
The dot is growing bigger.
Singapore's Pink Dot movement - an annual public gathering to promote freedom to love regardless of one's sexual orientation - has been gaining traction overseas, with similar events popping up in New York City, London, Kaohsiung in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Montreal and even Anchorage in Alaska.
The latest to be inspired is a group in Utah, which will hold a similar gathering in Salt Lake City next month. The event, called Pink Dot Utah, is organised by a group of volunteers working on behalf of the Support Love Courage Council, an affiliate of a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender centre there.
On its website, the organisers said they took inspiration from the Singapore campaign, which had a promotional video shot by local director Boo Junfeng this year. 'We would like to acknowledge and thank them for sharing this amazing idea,' they wrote on the website.:oIo::oIo:
