We have the same view about a possible 3rd link via Punggol area to Pasir Gudang

That makes 3 of us at least, crossing fingers whilst waiting for news. Not so much for boom in terms of $$$ but bros in
East of SG will definitely benefit as its the hardest for them currently to come over here.

Distance though isn't the only factor, i have had a hard time convincing friends over initially.

Even a close friend (also my ex boss) took a while as he was busy travelling, it was pretty late by the time he bought but i
was glad he did.

On the other side of the spectrum, another ex boss though bought into Johor years back, staying at Bukit
Indah and recently bought one semi-d in The Gateway. A close friend staying in the East bought some units here, yet another
staying at Southern part also bought some while the closest bro of mine, staying in Jurong, literally 20 minutes away have never
even seen this place, let alone give it a chance.

True and I will be an old man already; dunno can still climb and build the tree house or not... kakaka... If my plans go accordingly, I should also have space for ciku and coconut... wah, all these dreams... must make it come true!

Ya, don wait lo. Don now get to enjoy now. My contractor asked me if I wan real tree trunk for the tree house, I said no. No time to wait. Also on fruit tree will attract lots of ants. So I ended up asking for one with tile roof (
grass=termites) sliding door with balcony n power point ( just in case urban kids needs Aircon) and contractor said;
that's not tree house, that's a house! By the way, he proposed 8 by 8 feet, anyone thing the size alright? I tot 10 by 10
feet better.

Hi sis sanur

Hope u abke to post a pic of the 'tree hse' when its ready as i am thinkg of doing one for my kids when i get my kes nex yr...gee not sure if the kids or me who is more excited abt this heheheh

Danga Island is freehold, been to their office  I wonder why they are not able to sell well..

Oh the sales guy from Puteri Harbour gave me the wrong info. He said that Danga Island is 99 years.

Anyway it's not surprising to me as I myself would prefer Puteri Harbour to Danga Island. Don't forget that Puteri Harbour has a future CIQ, indoor theme park, Kota Iskandar and Medini(Nusjaya's CBD) just nearby. The feel of the whole surrounding is simply 'brand new city'! But with the opening of Coastal Highway, I believe interest will slowly increase for Danga Island too.

Congrats to all those who bought in Horizon Hills
I travelled on Coastal Highway from EL(roundabout) to HH today and the distance is only 4.5km when I reached the new Southern entrance/exit gate of HH. Yes, on Coastal Highway itself, you can exit directly into Horizon Hill's Southern entrance/exit gate. From inside of HH's compound, you can also enter directly into Coastal Highway(towards JB) via this Southern entrace/exit gate.

Weird thing happened yesterday, mum came to visit and gave me something to keep at home. Apparently she went to a medium recently as she heard from my wife that things were not going well for me. We had to send our helper away as she was always complaining and comparing, even though we gave her tv, etc she still wasn't happy. We had to send her away.

Then my wife's health isn't so good so have been assisting her, worse time especially when her helper is gone. My own work isn't going so well, even working 72 hours straight last week ended up in a bad state.

Some quarrels between relatives were also pretty taxing although i try to be neutral as much as i can, helping whenever i could in between with some advice and 2 cents about their renovation and furniture choices. All are dear to me.
<Shortened version>

I won't even go into details about how a silly contractor i recommended to relatives just doubled his fee when quoting them. I asked my neighbour who recommended him to us, seems like some may have offended him with some unmeant remarks and that sparked it off for him. Just like one that i recommended to Meng asked me within earshot of him, will they steal my parts or tyres? In the end, he still gave them a discount on my account but i really felt bad and bought him a drink.

One thing is for sure, i will just continue to do what i can for my relatives but my candle is really burning out fast.

Now, going back to the conversation with my mum, apparently seems like the medium knew what i have been doing especially in Johore as well and said some pretty embarrasingly kind words and told my mum i will be blessed for what i am doing. I was gladdened by their words but will continue what i am doing, thankless job or not.

To bros who are continually discouraged when doing a good deed even when people suspect you or doubt you?

Don't stop, i hope this encourages you, continue doing it not just because of them or any rewards but because of what you believe in.
Give money to charity and help others when you see they are in the need, money is just a digit to
most of us but to some, it could be the next meal, education or other things.

Even a relative of mine was helped out once by an Indian gentleman who supported her education.
Though she isn't close (not by any stretch of imagination) to us but felt a tinge of kindness from this
kind gentleman even though i wasn't the one he helped. I hope that he will be blessed.

Good people really exists in this world, please be kind not only to animals, but all sentient beings.

Human beings are actually the most to be pitied as they have to go through more obstacles than most
other beings in life and has more responsibilities than most of them.

Most of our anger comes from sadness and disappointment especially from within ourselves, be kind to others
but remember to be gentle to ourselves.

Do not know about others..... I do not have a pre determine price base on what i am willing to pay.

When I buy imperia... I check around and most expensive condo in JB is about MYR450-500k for about 1000 sqft in aug 2011(450-500psf). Based on that price, I add a premium for marina view, freehold, high floor and better finishes. As a result 900+ imperia is ok with me. However if the price is average price is MYR300k, I would not have buy imperia at this price.

Initial price growth is driven by rental value that eventually drive capital values(price) of a property. The real surge come when there is speculative demand. Ie when there is many people buying and yet many empty units.

I am a risk taker not because I over geared or no reserves. But more as a first mover.....

Hope that I am right...Most people in this forum are vested like myself. That why it is good to hear from others who are skeptical so that we does not overlook any negatives factors.

Fortunately, many agree that the only risk now is implementation risk and political risk...

Cheers,
PH

Hi PH and everyone else

Since most of us here either already have or are planning to get property/ies in Iskandar. This currency risk thing really should be a concern to all of us.
I'll start by sharing my own personal non -professional view about the currency risk for our property/ies in Iskandar, hope to hear the views from others in return.

=) haha, and probably security will be tighter at Puteri Harbour. It will be a nice place once fully developed.

Thanks Investor, a learned bro of mine shared with me the detailed drawings and another ones wife pointed me like a shining beacon as she was involved in some projects from the SG side so i went ahead with buying more. At that time, i was already in here, highway or not.

I am sure it will be, CIQ, etc. Very vibrant for sure. I brought friends over there and they were impressed. Same with places like Impiana too.

Thanks for sharing so much of what you think, this is starting to move beyond a place just for own stay but i will caution to still be careful and only go for good developments after doing due dilligence. Land is plentiful in Johore but prime or good areas will nearly always be in short supply.

Was at LF since last night, confined drawing n design for the so called "tree house" it's no longer a tree house as now it built on four stilt instead. Asked for provision to put up sliding doors n power point just incase portable Aircon needed n contractor commented, it's another house in the garden.

I can imagine 10 years down the road, there will be nice restaurants like those in Demsey, clubs like those in Clarke Quay. It will be an upmarket vibrant city full of expats.

You sounded exactly like a close friend of mine, he just made such a remark last week and he only came here once, told me he wants to come in next weekend.
