Sometimes in life it's not the destination, it's about experiencing the journey. So many times people care about arriving at a destination that they miss out a lot of beautiful moments during the journey. Those who did the railway ktm walk probably will know what it means.

Definitely, we are all on the way, taking the journey to the same destination. Some will get off early but all will getting there, whether you arrive at the destination via first class or economy class, the thing is to enjoy the process.

Good on your bro investor, young, capable and most importantly have an open mind.
Most of us are unfortunately too quick to condemn a place without even seeing it for
ourselves.

Thanks wuqi, you are the young and capable one here, I don't consider myself there yet.

Just here to share some of my opinion about Nusajaya's properties(or whole of Iskandar to some here) since this thread is about Johor and is very lively. But only to find out that many here actually bought for own stay instead of investing in its potential like me :p Of course many who bought for own stay also see the potential upside of Nusajaya/Iskandar but I was just surprised that a few here didn't see it the same way even though they have 'bought'(for their case not 'invest'). At first I thought most here share the same sentiment as me on the potential of Nusajaya. Anyway, I'm lucky that it turned out well and I continue to believe in its future potential. To each his own, feel free to laugh at me

Definitely agree, but for those who are at the lowest level in Maslow's hierarchy of needs(worry about food and shelther), I don't think they can enjoy any beautiful moments during the journey. So this only applies to those who are, at the very least, already on Maslow's second level of needs.

Actually you are the one I respect, at your age I can't even afford a bicycle and you are already investing in Properties! Moreover, you are still Schooling! In my schools days, all I did was enjoying life doing things I liked and that was about it. Am really impressed with your character and I really meant it when I said that you'll be a high flyer by 30.

I consider myself relatively new to property investments as I don't have 10 or 20 years of experience in it, so far so good in it though, thus most of my investments are actually not in properties. Me doing well? I always like to compare myself to those above me and not below, thus I've never thought highly of myself. Hope I can also be an ultra high net worth individual one day, high net worth is really not quite enough if it's in Singapore considering the high prices in properties and luxury cars.

Respect for you both actually, like many, i was too myopic to ever consider buying earlier.
The fastest way to make (and lose) money for me is still in stocks, i have made and lost the
equivalent of one of my terraces.

It was a sobering moment to be sitting there with more than 150k USD in losses in the span
of one long long night. Worse still back then, was only 29 and the reality of it sunk in. I sucked
in my chest and went on my business as though nothing had happened. Then those around me
especially my parents and siblings couldn't believe it when i told them i lost money.

My siblings were shocked i could take it so well but i told them, whats the point of crying over spilt
milk? I should just concentrate and focus on whats more important and i was pretty sure i would recover
it.

Slowly and surely, one year later, 50% losses recovered. Sold off other stuff and decided to go into
Semi-D here with some stocks left. 6 months, recovered more from stocks, bought cluster. Recovered fully
from stocks and made some extra.

Bought 1 more terrace. Made money from stocks, bought 1 more with sister sharing.

The key thing is never to give up, lots of people will be dead losers if they just gave up after the first multiple sequence of failures they encounter in life.
Life is always about a cycle, every dog has its day.

No matter how good your current run, it will end one day, never bully people when you are on the top, you will never know some day.
The cycle continues

Hi , thanks for the tip.
Are you able to recommend any reputable moneychanger here ? thanks.

Hello checkers,
I use Sino from Parkway for convenience, just next to Citibank, not the best rates but pretty good. Most bros would recommend this moneychanger in Arcade. One bro used a money changer in Jurong with good rates as well. Do remember to keep your remittance receipt well.

I am not there myself, just making my way slowly and if i can reach out to grab someone up, i will.

Investor, I actually do think this is a good place to invest which was why i didn't stretch and got a bungalow but instead spread over smaller units that i would buy slowly. I would still tell people its a good place to stay and then as a secondary purpose to invest as there are still risks here. What you and me can see and accept may be seen or viewed as too risky by some. I will never laugh at you, folks like you, HH are sure to have the last laugh once the prices achieve the peak, the way i see it (IMHO), we are just past the base camp right now. If i had more spare cash now, i would still buy albeit selectively.

Yes, most of the concerns i have tried to help on are from the lower end. In self-actualization mode currently (or at least trying to be)
You don't have to be really rich, you just have to have enough money to do what you want. I always smile when folks say they have a lot
or that row of shophouses belong to them but they have no money/inclination to pay for the group meals or more importantly help out others.

Hope not to disappoint everyone here especially those in EL, Mydin is only opening a Bazaar store and NOT a Hypermart at Anjung Neighborhood Centre.
http://www.mydin.com.my/mydin/stores So when you go there do not be surprise by the size of it.

Hi Serenity, thanks for sharing. No worries, in this 'sleeping giant' town at present, I think even the opening of a mama shop will be of certain excitement to the existing residents in East Ledang

Sad to say, there aren't many kind hearted people like you in modern cities like ours. There should be more in rural areas, eg Kampung people  Their lives are simple, not as competitive, greedy and materialistic like us  Of course I don't mean that all are bad so don't flame me or get angry  I'm happy to know someone like you, although just via forum now, hope to know you in person one day

I will get more resale terraces too if price is good.
Actually there are many like you and me who bought many units, just that they are not in this forum sharing their views on why they invest in Nusajaya.
Whereas most who are in this forum are those who bought to stay and are discussing about 'Living in JB'.
Very few investors are here sharing their views.

Hi last resort, while I am all for starting young in investments, I am curious how to invest in properties while still schooling? Are you both working and schooling at the same time, if not how to qualify for housing loan and pay loan instalments without an income?
