Electronic systems allow firing while maintaining cover

FAMAS accommodates a man-machine interface, a second grip and a telescopic sight. The sight is equipped with a day imager and a night imager (the infantryman’s sight will be light intensifying, and one soldier per squad will have a thermal sight: uncooled IR), a restitution eyepiece, a clear sight for instinctive shooting. The sight has an integrated video camera that transmits received images to the system. A wire connection links the weapon to the system

night shooting against the guy above, sure die one if we use sar.

The FAMAS (French: Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne or "Assault rifle of the Saint-Étienne weapon factory") is a bullpup-styled assault rifle designed and manufactured in France by MAS located in Saint-Étienne, which is now a member of the French government-owned Nexter group. It is the service rifle of the French military.

to calibrate the electronic sight. Just like what you do in army when zero the rifle by clicking. But now you have a electronic pad to zero your rifles.

This is not vietnam war anymore, still use a tweeter to zero rifles.

Bullshit, it is not accurate enough and useless at night

Accuracy issue is nothing to do with the base model. It is production and maintenance issue. Mainly barrel and the ammo. There are too many poor 3rd world producing copycat AK-47, which are inaccurate due to poor productions. Any base design, if your gunsmith workshop is advanced and tooling are good precision quality, can be made very accurately. Metallurgy of the gun metals, foundry treatment must be well done. Then maintenance in the field is another issue.

Night shooting has nothing to do with the gun itself, it is the aiming optical aid and the shooter's eye the issue.

Kalashnikov is a good base design, because it got the important mechanical design right, and became very robust and reliable. Weather a piece is accurate or not, it is production and maintenance issue.

1. AK-47
Type: Semi or Fully Automatic Assault Rifle
Country of Origin: Soviet Union
Caliber: 7.62 x 39 mm (.30 inch)
Cartridge Capacity: 30 rounds
Muzzle Velocity: 2,329 feet per second
Rate of Fire: 600 rounds per minute

With over 75 million built worldwide, the AK-47 (a.k.a., "Kalashnikov") is a firearms legend that has probably inflicted more lethal results than any other single weapon system ever produced. Built on the same basic design as the German Sturmgewehr, it chambered an intermediate round and was built from stamped parts. The AK-47 was not only easy to produce and relatively cheap, is also proved remarkably easy to maintain and virtually immune to conditions that could easily take out other guns. Accuracy is average, but the Kalashnikov compensates for this with its ability to unleash a lethal wall of lead.

FAMAS have IR vision, who do you think will shoot better at night, your AK47 and eyes vs FAMAS with IR??

I'm a little surprised no one has referred to this little gem of a bull-pup weapon which was first went into service in 1977 - even before I went to NS! And the beauty of this - it is ambidextrous, i.e., a flip of a switch and the empty cartridges will eject out the left side of the gun. 20 years later and SAR21 could not and still cannot do that!

Look at this, our dear SAR is quite outdated.

im a left handed and when im shooting SAR. the instructor informed me to use my right hand even im a left handed, because SAR is design to use for right hand only!!! WTF! he said even u r a left handed, u can use your right hand to shoot. it will still be accurate if u r a sharp shooter. knn!!! :oIo: for SAR, the empty cartridges will only eject out the right side of the gun!!! anyway it comes with a bag to collect the empty catridges, so i still use my left hand to shoot. but the gun powder smell and the smoke really cannot tahan when using left hand to shoot.

anyone young enough to use SAR during their NS? pls explain and verify that the instructor did not smoke me.

me only trained in S&W .38, glock, m16 s1, GPMG, hk mp5, arwen ace, taurus revolver, 0.5" Browning Machine Gun, Oerlikon 20 mm cannon and CIS 50MG. but not SAR.
